Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Gameplay

The Lost Crown is a video game where you play as Sargon, the main character. It's a side-scrolling action-adventure game where Sargon can do things like jumping, sliding, and dashing in the air to move around fast between platforms. He fights enemies using a pair of blades. If you time a move just right to defend against attacks, Sargon's special ability, Athra's Glow, gets stronger.

There are special powers related to time that Sargon can use for both fighting and moving around. Rush of the Simurgh lets him dash forward quickly through time, and Shadow of the Simurgh allows him to mark a spot as a temporary checkpoint to return to later.

Players can change Sargon's abilities by giving him special items called talismans.

The game has elements of Metroidvania, which means the game world is all connected. There are hidden paths, secrets, and puzzles that players need to solve to go forward in the game. Exploring the world, players can find Time crystals to improve Sargon's weapons. Sometimes, players might not have everything they need to solve a problem, but they can take pictures and pin them on the map to remember where the puzzles are. This helps them later when they've got the right tools or skills.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Development

The Lost Crown game is made by Ubisoft Montpellier, the same people who created the Rayman games. They worked on this game for about three and a half years. The music for the game was done by Gareth Coker and Mentrix.

This game is inspired by Persian mythology, which comes from ancient stories from Iran. The director, Mounir Radi, wanted to shine a light on this mythology and show how it's influenced other stories. The game has creatures from Persian myths, like the manticore, which is a big enemy in the game.

Even though this game is in the Prince of Persia world, it's a whole new story. The special time powers from the older Prince of Persia games are in this one, but the bad guy uses them instead of the main character, Sargon.

Sargon, the main character, is described as a really skilled fighter who is very quick and good at moving around. The game's creators wanted to make the Prince of Persia series feel new and fresh by updating the main character's look and abilities.

The game was announced in June 2023, and the first trailer had mixed reactions from people. The person who originally created Prince of Persia, Jordan Mechner, wasn't part of making this game, but he said he supports the team and thinks this game is what he's been hoping for in a Prince of Persia game. The game will be available to play on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S starting from January 18, 2024.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Plot

In the game, Sargon is introduced as a member of The Immortals, a clan known for its skilled warriors. The story begins with Sargon's quest to travel to Mount Qaf, a city that's plagued by a curse. His primary objective is to rescue Prince Ghassan, who has been captured or taken away and held within this cursed city.

As Sargon ventures into Mount Qaf, players will navigate through various challenges, encountering enemies and solving puzzles while exploring the city's mysterious and dangerous environment. Throughout the journey, Sargon will employ his combat skills, agility, and special abilities to overcome obstacles, fight enemies, and ultimately reach Prince Ghassan to rescue him from captivity.

The storyline of The Lost Crown revolves around Sargon's daring mission to save the kidnapped prince, and players will guide him through this perilous adventure, discovering more about the cursed city and facing adversaries while striving to accomplish his noble quest.
