Project Almanac Ending Explained
In the ending moments of Project Almanac, we witness David's pivotal decision to obliterate the plans for the time machine, inadvertently resulting in the destruction of his own timeline and the emergence of a fresh one. Within this new timeline, David once again stumbles upon his late father's camera, but this time, he also discovers the camera that his other self had dropped.
As David views the footage captured on both cameras, he becomes consumed with the desire to construct a time machine. This culminating twist introduces the concept of the Time Paradox, which posits that regardless of one's attempts to alter the future, the world will strive to recreate the same sequence of events.
In the film, David's motive for obliterating the plans stems from the belief that by eradicating the existence of the time machine, he and his friends will be spared from the tumultuous events that unfolded. However, the world exhibits a tendency to rectify such errors, exemplified by David inadvertently dropping the camera containing the very details needed to construct the machine.
Upon observing this footage, the newfound David, driven by the same ambition, devises a plan to construct a time machine and embark on a journey to reshape the world. Thus, regardless of David's actions, they seem destined to repeat themselves, trapped within an infinite time loop. Consequently, it becomes apparent that David will inevitably find himself in possession of a time machine and utilize it repeatedly.
