On March 12, 2023, the 95th Academy Awards ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to recognize films released in 2022. The event was broadcasted on ABC and produced by Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss, with Weiss also serving as the director. Jimmy Kimmel hosted the ceremony for the third time, having previously hosted in 2017 and 2018.
The film Everything Everywhere All at Once received the most nominations, with a total of eleven, and went on to win seven awards, including Best Picture. All Quiet on the Western Front won four awards, while The Whale received two. One award was presented to each of the following films: Avatar: The Way of Water, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, The Elephant Whisperers, Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, An Irish Goodbye, Navalny, Top Gun: Maverick, and Women Talking.
