He received many accolades during his career, including induction into the Canadian Broadcast Hall of Fame and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, and recognition from the City of Vancouver, which declared March 30, 2017, Red Robinson Day in honor of his 80th birthday. Robinson retired from radio in 2007 and passed away shortly before his friend Godin was planning to visit him.
