Microsoft faced significant criticism for showcasing Redfall running at 60fps before its launch, only to announce less than a month before the game's release that it would be locked at 30fps on Xbox Series X and S, with a 60fps performance mode to be added later through a patch. Xbox boss Phil Spencer personally apologized for Redfall's shortcomings, which received widespread negative reviews upon its launch. In an interview with Kinda Funny Games in May, Spencer admitted that Microsoft was aware of the game's 30fps performance on consoles when they released misleading gameplay footage, and he vowed to reevaluate their development processes in light of the game's disappointing release.
When will Redfall Get a 60fps Patch?
It is unknown when the Redfall will get a 60fps Patch, as there is no official confirmation regarding the 60fps Patch. The latest update, bringing Redfall to version 1.1, includes incremental improvements across various aspects of the game, such as gameplay, combat, AI, environment, stability, multiplayer, accessibility, UI, and bug fixes. Arkane Austin has specifically focused on three key areas for improvement: enemy AI responsiveness, enemy encounter frequency, and vampire combat efficiency, along with graphical fidelity enhancements.
Arkane Austin emphasizes that this patch is only the first step, and they have introduced several fixes that will enhance the overall experience of Redfall. The release of this patch comes shortly after Bethesda boss Todd Howard confirmed to a famous source that the highly anticipated Starfield game will also be locked at 30fps on Xbox Series X and S. This confirmation regarding Starfield's performance arrives three months before the game's scheduled release date of September 1.

Redfall Game Synopsis
Redfall is a game set in the fictional town of Redfall, Massachusetts, where a failed scientific experiment leads to a full-scale invasion by vampires. Players assume the roles of four unique survivors: Devinder Crousley, Layla Ellison, Remi de la Rosa, and Jacob Boyer. Their mission is to slay the invading vampires and their human collaborators.
The story unfolds as the vampires openly prey on the townspeople, trapping them within Redfall through a spell that creates a wall of water and a permanent eclipse. The vampire hunters escape and establish a safe haven at the local fire station. Their objective is to eliminate vampires, fight cultists, and uncover the source of the vampirism.
They discover that Dr. Peter Addison, a scientist working at Aevum Therapeutics, created the vampires, transforming himself into the powerful "Hollow Man." Investigating further, the hunters find out that the Hollow Man experimented on his own daughter in an attempt to cure her illness. They ultimately confront and defeat the Hollow Man, restoring radio communications with other survivors.
The vampire hunters respond to a distress call and establish a second haven at the Redfall Maritime Center. They learn that two more vampire gods, Bloody Tom, and Miss Whisper, are present on the island. Through investigation and exploration of their pasts, the hunters uncover the identities and dark histories of these vampire gods. They track them down and eliminate them.
One vampire god, Black Sun, remains and is responsible for the eclipse. Bloodbag Chuck, a transformed founder of Aevum, reveals that Black Sun is his sister Claire. The hunters enter Bloodbag Chuck's psychic realm to find the clues needed to defeat Black Sun. Inside, they discover the truth about the Gateway, a girl used for experiments with unique healing blood.
The hunters confront and defeat Black Sun, realizing she manipulated them into eliminating her rivals. They are greeted by the spirit of the Gateway, Grace, who expresses gratitude for their actions. With Black Sun defeated, the eclipse ends, sunlight returns, and many vampires perish. The remaining survivors stage a counterattack, forcing the cultists to flee. The isolation spell on Redfall begins to dissipate, allowing contact with the outside world.
However, some vampires manage to escape, ensuring the battle against them continues in the future.
