How to Get Navigator Helm in Remnant 2?

To obtain the Navigator's Helm in Remnant 2, follow these steps:

  • Location: The Navigator's Helm can be obtained by killing the Navigator zombie in the area known as N’erud.
  • Timeless Horizon in N’erud: To begin your search for the Navigator's Helm, head to the Timeless Horizon area in N’erud. This area may have a more randomized storyline and progression, making it a bit challenging to pinpoint.
  • Extraction Hub Checkpoint: Look for the extraction hub checkpoint in the Timeless Horizon. Around this area, you will hear large pistons thumping on the ground. These pistons emit distinct sounds, allowing you to locate them from a distance.
  • Identify the Correct Piston: Carefully observe the pistons and find one with a hole in its impact zone. This hole will serve as your entry point to the next step.
  • Timing and Caution: Timing is crucial as you attempt to go underneath the piston through the hole. The pistons are extremely dangerous and will instantly kill you if they hit you. So, exercise caution and precise timing to avoid any mishaps.
  • Navigate the Area: Once you successfully pass through the hole in the piston, you'll enter a new area with various N’erud zombies. Among them, you need to find the Navigator Zombie, which wears the Navigator's Helm.
  • Defeat the Navigator Zombie: Engage the Navigator Zombie in combat and defeat it like any other zombie. Be prepared for a challenging battle, as the Navigator Zombie may be tougher than regular enemies.
  • Claim the Navigator's Helm: After defeating the Navigator Zombie, you'll have a chance to obtain the Navigator's Helm as a drop. However, please note that the helm is a rare item, so it may take some exploring and multiple attempts before acquiring it.
  • Navigator's Helm Attributes: The Navigator's Helm offers average protection and provides shock & toxin resistance. Its design is meant for individuals with the ability to pilot an entire world and is used in the Navigation Room for facial recognition.
  • Versatility: The Navigator's Helm does not belong to any specific armor set, giving players the freedom to pair it with any other armor of their choice. This allows for customization and personalization of your character's appearance while benefiting from the helm's attributes.

What to do with the Navigator's Helm in Remnant 2?

Once you have the Navigator Helm equipped in Remnant 2, your next objective is to locate a massive crashed ship in the land of N’Erud. This ship can be easily spotted as it lies in front of one of the major towers and is situated near a Worldstone, which I encountered during my playthrough.

To gain access to the ship, you'll need to find a hidden entrance, which might involve some crouching and exploration. Once you locate the entrance, proceed inside until you come across a scanner eye. With the Navigator Helm equipped, the door will recognize you as the rightful pilot and grant you access to the ship's cockpit.

Inside the cockpit, you'll discover a valuable ring and the powerful Plasma Cutter long gun. The Plasma Cutter excels at dealing devastating damage up close, with its effectiveness gradually decreasing beyond 30 meters. Furthermore, the Plasma Cutter comes with a unique mod called "Heat Sink."

When activated, this mod drains the heat generated by the Plasma Cutter, resulting in significantly reduced heat production and a damage boost of up to 3 times its regular output. This effect lasts for 20 seconds, and once the mod is deactivated, the weapon's heat will automatically return to normal.

Remnant 2 Gameplay

Remnant 2, much like its predecessor, draws inspiration from Soulslike video games and is a thrilling third-person shooter experience. In the game, players have the option to wield up to two guns in addition to their melee weapon, allowing for diverse combat strategies.

At the start of Remnant 2, players can choose from various character archetypes, each offering unique playstyles. For example, the Gunslinger class replaces the Ex-cultist from the first game and specializes in firearms usage. The Challenger class boasts a devastating shockwave attack that disintegrates enemies, while the Handler class benefits from a loyal dog companion who aids in combat.

As players progress through the game, they will unlock the ability to dual class, granting them access to a wider range of abilities and perks. Activating archetype-specific perks and skills further enhances their character's capabilities. For instance, the Gunslinger's special ability, "Loaded," enables instant reloading of all equipped firearms, while the Handler's prime perk, "Bonded," allows their canine companion to revive them if they fall in battle.

Remnant 2 takes the concept of procedural generation from its predecessor and greatly expands it. Not only does it alter a level's layout and enemy spawn points, but also randomizes enemy types, region aesthetics, boss characters, non-playable characters, and even the game's storyline and quests.

Players have the option to experience the entire game solo, but Remnant 2 also supports a cooperative multiplayer mode for up to three players. This cooperative play allows friends to team up and face the challenging world of Remnant 2 together, adding an extra layer of excitement and camaraderie to the gameplay.
