Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 4 Puzzle

In Resident Evil 4 Remake, players need to solve puzzles to progress. As Leon goes through different areas, he'll come across locked chests, sealed gates, and barred doors. Some doors can be opened with a gunshot or Leon's combat knife, but others have puzzle locks. In the early part of the game, players face a challenge getting into the Church because of a large metal shutter.

To find the key shaped like an ornate medallion, players must go through the Quarry, cross the lake, and defeat a monster named Del Lago. The key is in the Mural Cave, locked behind a strange mechanism with grasping hands and two big palms. To unlock the medallion, players need two statue heads, which are obtained by solving the puzzle behind the Lake Doors. Here's how to unlock both Lake Doors in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

How to Unlock Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 4 Puzzle

Unlock the First Lake Door in Resident Evil 4 Remake:

Location:

  • Check Leon's map to find the marked locations for the Lake Doors. The closest one is south of the Mural Cave, accessible via a dock.

Enemy Clearing:

  • Before attempting the puzzle, eliminate enemies in the area for a smoother experience.

Pathway:

  • Follow the linear pathway from the dock, climb the ladder, and proceed until you find a bright neon-yellow painted symbol on a wall.

Symbol 1:

  • Note the first symbol and continue until you reach a locked door and a mechanism.

Yellow Paint on Pillars:

  • Spin 180 degrees from the door, spot yellow paint on two rock pillars nearby. Align the camera until the pillars "line up" for the second symbol.

Third Symbol:

  • Descend a nearby ladder to the left of the locked door. Look for the symbol on the wall.

Mechanism:

  • Return to the ladder, head to the mechanism, and input the three symbols in any order.

Unlocking:

  • Once the lock opens, enter the door, collect the Apostate's Head Key Item, and head back to the dock to continue the journey north.

Unlock the Second Door in Resident Evil 4 Remake:

Location:

  • The second door is in a different location. Clear enemies in the close-quarters area.

First Symbol:

  • Find the first symbol down the left pathway near the barred door, on the wall close to the ladder.

Cave Symbol:

  • Climb the ladder and look near the cave. Align yourself with a painted wall piece, stretching onto the cave roof, to reveal the second symbol (rotate 90 degrees left).

Final Symbol:

  • Upstairs, at the back of the structure, find the third symbol partially on the wood wall and partially on the cave wall outside the window.

Mechanism Input:

  • Return to the door, input the three symbols into the mechanism.

Inside the Door:

  • Enter the door, collect another statue head. With both key items, return to the Mural Cave, and use the statue heads on the open palms to unlock access to the Church Key.

Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4 is a scary game made by Capcom and first came out on the GameCube in 2005. In the game, you play as a special agent named Leon S. Kennedy. Your mission is to save the daughter of the US president, Ashley Graham, who got kidnapped by a religious group in Spain.

Leon has to fight lots of infected enemies controlled by a strange parasite and meets a spy named Ada Wong. Unlike the older Resident Evil games that had fixed cameras and slower gameplay, Resident Evil 4 has a moving camera and more action-packed gameplay.

The game's development started in 1999 for the PlayStation 2. There were four versions that got canceled. The first one, directed by Hideki Kamiya, was too different from the earlier games, so it became a game called Devil May Cry. After a few changes, Shinji Mikami took charge, and this became the final version. Capcom announced Resident Evil 4 as part of a special collaboration with Nintendo called the Capcom Five, where they made five exclusive games for the GameCube.

Resident Evil 4 got a lot of praise for its story, gameplay, graphics, voice acting, and characters. It's considered one of the best video games ever and won many Game of the Year awards in 2005. It was released on different platforms and became really popular, selling 12.3 million copies by December 2022. It also influenced other games, like Gears of War, Dead Space, and The Last of Us, by making the "over-the-shoulder" view popular. In 2023, a remake of Resident Evil 4 came out.

Resident Evil 4 Gameplay

Resident Evil 4 is a video game where you play as Leon S. Kennedy. It's different because it's more action-focused than earlier games. You control Leon from a third-person view, aiming over his shoulder or in first-person with a sniper rifle.

There's no crosshair for guns, but they have laser sights. You can aim at specific body parts, like shooting feet to make enemies stumble. The game has context-sensitive controls for interacting with the environment and quick time events for specific actions. The main enemies are violent villagers called Los Ganados. They can dodge, use weapons, and transform into monstrous forms. Other enemies include regenerating creatures, a giant, and a sea monster.

The inventory system uses a grid in an attaché case for items. You can upgrade it for more space. Weapons, ammo, and healing items go in the case, and there's a merchant to buy and sell items. The PlayStation 2 version added content like "Separate Ways," a side story about Ada Wong. All versions have extras like the minigame "The Mercenaries" and "Assignment Ada," new costumes, weapons, and a cutscene browser.

Resident Evil 4 Plot

In 2004, U.S. government agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue the President's daughter, Ashley Graham, who was kidnapped by a mysterious cult in a rural village in Spain. The villagers are controlled by a mind-controlling parasite called Las Plagas.

Leon is captured by the village chief, injected with Las Plagas, and meets Luis Sera, a former police officer. They escape together, but Leon later rescues Ashley from a church. The cult leader, Osmund Saddler, plans to use the parasite in Ashley to control the U.S. President.

After facing challenges in a castle, including encounters with Ada Wong, Leon battles and defeats Salazar, another cult henchman. Leon then travels to an island facility, discovering that Jack Krauser, thought dead, is involved in Ashley's kidnapping.

Ada and Krauser, working with Albert Wesker, aim to secure a Plagas sample. Krauser is ordered to kill Leon, but after defeating Krauser, Leon rescues Ashley. They remove the parasite using a device. Leon confronts Saddler with Ada's help and kills him, but Ada takes the sample and escapes. Leon and Ashley flee the island as it explodes.
