Unlike previous Resident Evil games, which featured fixed camera angles and slower-paced gameplay, Resident Evil 4 features a dynamic camera system and action-oriented gameplay. Development on Resident Evil 4 started in 1999 for the PlayStation 2, but four proposed versions were scrapped before the final version was created. The first attempt was directed by Hideki Kamiya, but it was spun-off as Devil May Cry (2001) on the recommendation of series creator Shinji Mikami, who felt it strayed too far from the series roots.

Resident Evil 4 was announced as part of the Capcom Five, a collaboration between Capcom and Nintendo to create five GameCube exclusives to boost hardware sales and demonstrate third-party support. The game received critical acclaim for its story, gameplay, graphics, voice acting, and characters, and is considered one of the best video games of all time. It won multiple Game of the Year awards in 2005 and has since been ported to numerous formats, becoming a cross-platform hit and selling more than 11 million copies.

Resident Evil 4 significantly impacted the survival horror and third-person genres, popularizing the "over-the-shoulder" third-person view.

Resident Evil 4 remake ending explained

The Resident Evil 4 remake is a visually updated version of the original game, but with some differences in the story and ending. It includes various characters from previous remakes, such as Luis, Merchant, and Ada, and offers more context for each of them.

In the Resident Evil 4 remake, the ending differs slightly from the original, and it aims to end the saga in a more positive light. However, players should note that most of the game remains faithful to its roots, and the deviation only occurs towards the end. Additionally, the game features a newly added scene with Ada.

The final boss fight takes place against Osmund Saddler in the facility area, following the revelation that Krauser has kidnapped Ashley. The fight has two phases, and players must use all their firepower and upgraded weapons to inflict damage on him. Ada assists Leon by giving him the rocket launcher, and after firing it at Osmund, he drops the parasite vial beside Leon. Ada picks it up and walks towards the chopper, saying that she had an arrangement with Luis Serra. She hurls a key at Leon, but he refuses to join her. He and Ashley escape the facility, riding a jetski with the sunrise in the backdrop.

The conclusion of the Resident Evil 4 remake transitions to Ada in the chopper speaking with Albert Wesker. Ada inquires about Wesker's plan for the parasite sample, to which he replies that it is for ushering in a new dawn with billions of people as casualties. Ada aims her gun at the pilot, commanding him to change the chopper's course, concluding the story of the Resident Evil 4 remake.

The game is a survival horror that adeptly balances horror elements with action sequences, puzzle-solving sections, and collectibles that players can sell to the Merchant to acquire Pesetas, the in-game currency. Overall, the Resident Evil 4 remake is an excellent survival horror game that offers players a thrilling experience.

Resident Evil 4 remake final boss

In the Resident Evil 4 remake's final boss battle, Leon encounters Ada, who is tied up in a waterside docking and shipping area. Despite knowing it's a trap, he frees her, but is soon attacked by Lord Saddler. Ada intervenes and they both shoot at Saddler, who transforms into a giant insect with glowing eyes and sharp mandibles. The fight requires players to shoot the giant eyes first, and then attack the smaller eye located inside Saddler's mouth. Players must also evade his attacks and use the platforms to gain distance.

In the second phase of the fight, Saddler transforms into a mass of tentacles, and players must dodge his appendages while shooting at his amber core. Ada then throws Leon a powered-up rocket launcher, which he uses to shoot Saddler, allowing him to rush in and stab Saddler's eye with his scepter, ultimately ending the fight. The fight requires a mix of ranged and melee attacks, as well as careful evasion and platform use to overcome the monstrous Lord Saddler.

Resident Evil 4 remake final boss explained

In the Resident Evil 4 remake, the final boss fight takes place in a waterside docking and shipping area, where Leon encounters a tied-up Ada. Despite knowing that it's a trap, Leon proceeds to untie Ada, leaving Ashley behind. Suddenly, Lord Saddler appears and attacks Leon, grabbing him by the neck. Ada kicks Saddler from behind, freeing Leon from his grasp, and they both start firing at him. Saddler, however, seems unfazed by the attack and curses Leon for rejecting the parasitic infection. Saddler's body then transforms into a giant insect, with glowing eyes and sharp mandibles, making for a fitting final boss.

To defeat Saddler, players need to shoot his giant eyes first. Once all the eyes are destroyed, Saddler's weak point, a smaller eye located inside his mouth, is exposed, and players can rush in for a melee attack. After attacking the smaller eye, the larger ones regenerate, and the cycle repeats. Saddler has a variety of attacks at his disposal, including swinging his appendages, spitting black bile, and summoning swarms of giant insects. Players must follow the prompts to evade his attacks and use the shipping bay's platforms to maintain distance from him. However, Saddler frequently destroys parts of the platforms, making this more difficult.

Eventually, Lord Saddler falls off the platform, but this is not the end of the fight. In the second phase, Saddler transforms again into a mass of writhing tentacles, surrounding an amber core. Players must dodge his sweeping appendages and occasionally shoot his core until Ada throws Leon a powered-up rocket launcher. To end the fight, players must shoot Saddler with the rocket launcher. Leon will then rush Saddler, wrest away his scepter, and stab it into his eye, putting an end to the fight.
