When a portal to another realm opens, malevolent entities known as demons emerge into our world. Ku San-Young (Kim Tae-Ri) becomes possessed by one of these demons, while Yeom Hae-Sang (Oh Jung-Se) possesses the unique ability to see and identify the demon that has taken over Ku San-Young. Together, they set out on a journey to uncover the truth behind the mysterious deaths connected to the five sacred objects.
Ku San-Young leads a hectic life, working part-time during the day and studying to become a low-ranking public officer at night. After receiving some articles left by her deceased father, she finds herself surrounded by strange deaths and undergoes a gradual transformation.
Coming from a privileged background, Yeom Hae-Sang teaches Korean folklore at a university. Since his childhood, he has possessed the extraordinary power to perceive demons in our world. In his early years, he witnessed his mother's tragic demise caused by a demon. When Yeom Hae-Sang encounters Ku San-Young, he confronts the very demon responsible for his mother's death.
Lieutenant Lee Hong-Sae (Hong Kyung) serves in the violent crimes investigation team and is solely focused on advancing his career within the police department. However, due to the involvement of Ku San-Young and Yeom Hae-Sang, he becomes entangled in a series of perplexing cases.

Ku San-young becomes inhabited by a malevolent spirit after coming into contact with a memento left behind by her deceased father. Yeom Hae-sang tries to warn her about the dangerous ghost, but San-young initially dismisses his words. However, her skepticism vanishes when two murders occur in her vicinity, forcing her to accept Hae-sang's claims.
Later on, Hae-sang reveals to her that only one of the two murders was a consequence of her actions. The other murder was perpetrated by a vengeful ghost targeting a group of teenage boys. The two of them embark on separate investigations into the case, but it is San-young who ultimately witnesses the apparition of the young boy through a mirror.
