Rerolling

Common Terms

Before you dive into the game, let's familiarize you with some common terms:

• AP (Action Points): Each round, you have a limited number of Action Points for using or moving cards. The number of AP is tied to the number of characters you have on the field.
• AP Generous: Refers to characters who don't need to spend many Action Points to fulfill their role.
• AP Greedy: The opposite of AP generous, referring to characters who need to use cards and moves constantly to fulfill their role.
• Tuning Skills: These are character skills, and they can be found in the bottom left corner of the screen during combat.
• Moxie: Moxie represents the little dots below the HP bar of each character. You can gain Moxie through various actions in the game.
• Insight Levels (i0, i1, i2, i3): These levels refer to a character's Insight level, similar to ascension or promotion in other games. Characters can reach different Insight levels based on their rarity.
• Afflatus: These are the "Elements" in Reverse:1999. There are six of them: Star, Mineral, Beast, Plant, Spirit, and Intellect.
• Reality DMG and Mental DMG: Similar to "Physical" and "Magical" damage in other games. Reality and Mental damage have their own defense counterparts.
• Strat/Team Comp: Refers to the kind of strategy or team composition that a player is going for. Synergy and team composition are key in Reverse:1999.
• Substitute: In most stages, you can select up to four characters. The fourth one will wait at the suitcase with a "substitute" tag.
• Sacc/Sacrifice Strat: A strategy where a player purposefully sacrifices a character.
• Psychube: Equivalent to gear or equipment in the game, obtained through gameplay.
• Resonance: Allows for increasing a character's raw attributes. It's a crucial part of character upgrades.

Stages

• Tutorial ends at 1-1, unlocking 2x speed in combat.
• After stage 1-6, you unlock Traces (and can get Leilani by interacting with a Trace in the map).
• Clearing 1-11 unlocks Dust Farming (experience material) stages.
• After stage 1-12, get Eagle by interacting with a Trace on the map.
• At 1-14, you unlock the Tuning Skill Set "First Melody."
• Tuning Skill Set "Grand Orchestra" can be obtained by clearing all training stages, accessible from any main story map.
• Stage 2-6 unlocks Hard Mode.
• Stage 2-8 unlocks Insight stages.
• Stage 2-10 unlocks Psychubes and Pneuma Analysis (Psychube farm stages).
• Stage 3-2 unlocks the Resonance system and the Artificial Somnambulism game mode.

Beginning of the Tale

"Beginning of the Tale" refers to the Beginner Missions. Completing these missions provides rewards and introduces you to the game's basics. Some noteworthy rewards include resources and valuable items.
