Before its official release, the game underwent several beta tests, starting on January 7, 2022, and later on June 10, 2022. It was officially launched in China on May 2023. Following this, a global version beta test took place from August 4 to 13, 2023. It was released globally on 26 October 2023.

Reverse 1999 Gameplay
"Reverse 1999 Gameplay" is a turn-based RPG game with a unique card system for combat. In the game, each character has their own set of abilities. They have passive skills, two incantation cards, and one ultimate card. These cards come in different star levels, ranging from one to three stars. Players can combine cards with the same star level to make them stronger and deal more damage.
Characters in the game are divided into six different groups, or "Afflatus": Mineral, Beast, Plant, Star, Spirit, and Intelligence. They can deal two types of damage: Reality and Mental. These groups interact in a specific way, causing 30% more damage to enemies with weaker Afflatus. Additionally, Spirit and Intelligence characters deal 30% more damage to each other.
The game also features "Tuning Skills," which allow players to strategize by randomizing their cards or upgrading them without spending a resource called Action Points (AP). During combat, you can have up to three characters in your team (except in special situations), and if one of your characters is defeated, a fourth character can be used as a substitute.
Reverse 1999 Plot
The "Reverse 1999 Plot" is about a young girl known as the "Timekeeper." On December 31, 1999, just as the clock was about to strike midnight, a strange phenomenon called the "Storm" emerged, pushing everything back in time. It made the world revert to an older era, erasing modern parties, neon signs, and late-night buses.
The Timekeeper was the only one who remained unaffected by the Storm. She had the ability to travel through time and had witnessed the beginnings and ends of countless eras. During her time travels, she made friends with arcanists from different times and places. Her role was to help them escape from the effects of the "Storm" and navigate the challenges of this unusual and altered world.
