Ring of Honor

ROH, which stands for Ring of Honor, is a professional wrestling promotion based in Jacksonville, Florida. It was established by Rob Feinstein on February 23, 2002, and was operated by Cary Silkin from 2004 until 2011 when it was acquired by the Sinclair Broadcast Group. The promotion gained more attention when it was sold to Tony Khan, the founder, co-owner, president, and CEO of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), two months after a deal was struck in March 2022. In the 2010s, ROH was regarded as the third-largest wrestling promotion in the United States, trailing behind WWE and Impact Wrestling. Under Sinclair Broadcast Group's ownership, ROH entered talent-sharing agreements with wrestling companies outside the U.S. and expanded its television coverage through Sinclair's broadcast stations. The promotion also established its streaming service, Honor Club, in 2018. However, with the emergence and rapid growth of AEW, which has significant financial backing, U.S. television deals, and the capacity to host major arena events, ROH has been perceived as a smaller promotion compared to WWE and AEW. Consequently, ROH's popularity has decreased over time.
