RuneScape 3 is a popular MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) developed and published by Jagex. It is the third installment in the RuneScape series, which began with the release of RuneScape Classic in 2001.
Players create a character and embark on various quests, engage in combat with monsters, and train their skills in various activities such as mining, crafting, and fishing. The game also features a player-driven economy where players can trade items and goods with each other.

DEATH UPDATE
Ring of Death's cooldown is no longer removed during certain boss phase changes.
The Ring of Death's effect now correctly applies to all Instakill mechanics.
Dev note! "Thanks for feedback on the Ring of Death since the recent update. You've told us that damage mitigation effects combined with healing abilities make the Ring of Death's effect too easy to survive, which trivialises many instakill mechanics..
Instakills were also confusing, as we had multiple forms with the same visual effects. These are now defined as:
Full instakill: No signs or RoD allowed - will display the skull with 'Instant Kill' text.
Soft instakill: Signs and RoD allowed - will display the skull without text.
High damage: Deals lots of damage but isn't technically an instakill.
The starting damage value will now be 20% of the killing blow, within the range of 150 to 2000. A soft instakill will automatically start at 2,000, so you can survive the mechanic, but it will still be tough to survive long enough for the kill. The timer will now last until you either die or return to a safe area, allowing higher-level players to survive longer... but not indefinitely.
Following these changes, the sign will now take priority over the RoD and be the first to activate."

Rs3 Roadmap 2023
Jagex released a new roadmap for RuneScape in 2023, just a few days after announcing the events for Old School RuneScape. This roadmap includes a new main storyline called Fort Forinthry, which centers around the construction and defense of a fortress at the edge of The Wilderness. Players will be tasked with protecting the world from the encroaching Zamorakian forces, with the fortress being the only line of defense against the chaos of The Wilderness. Additionally, a new skill and other exciting content can be expected in the coming year.
RuneScape fans have been eagerly anticipating the addition of a new skill, and their wait is almost over. Nearly three years after the introduction of the Archaeology skill, RuneScape will soon be receiving the Necromancy skill in the coming months. However, this is just one of many exciting additions coming to the game in 2023, with Jagex teasing more to come in the near future.

Necromancy Will Be RuneScape's 29th Skill, Coming in 2023
The listings refer to the announced game as an "exciting new IP, built in Unreal Engine 5". This suggests that, unlike what fans were hoping for, the game will not be RuneScape 4.
RuneScape is one of the longest-surviving MMORPGs with two decades of history behind it and it continues to draw players to the game to this day. While I don't think there are too many new players joining the game in 2023, many veterans keep coming back to experience what is possibly one of their first MMORPGs.
Definitely not, the F2P version is more of a trial version. If you get a membership you unlock all the content in the game and it's pretty cheap (10$ a month) and you can also buy it with in-game currency.
Runescape is a web based game. At this point they are both getting a bit long int the tooth but WOW has a bigger following and is powered by a much bigger company (Blizzard). IF you can afford it you will have a better time playing wow. If money is tight I would stick to Runescape because it is free.
