The fatal crash happened at around 7:15 a.m. on June 26, on the 300 block of Schoolhouse Road near the intersection with Halteman Road. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that a Ford sedan had veered off the road and collided with a tree. Fortunately, a passing motorist and a nearby Pennsylvania State Trooper acted swiftly, rescuing Rodgers from the vehicle and providing immediate assistance before the car caught fire, as reported by the police.
The fire was promptly extinguished by the police and members of the Souderton Fire Department. Rodgers was then transported to Grand View Hospital by VMSC Ambulance, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, according to the authorities.
The incident is currently under investigation, as stated by Franconia Police Chief Michael Martin. Impairment or excessive speed are not believed to be contributing factors to the crash.
