Salute Movie Ending Explained
The plot of the movie centers around a murder case where Aravind, along with his brother and team, wrongfully accused Murali of the crime based on fabricated evidence. Later on, they discover that another man was the actual culprit. However, Aravind's brother fears that the truth coming out could lead to their punishment and thus diverts Aravind's attention from the case, resulting in its closure.
Years later, when Aravind returns to town, he meets Murali's sister and decides to help him by rejoining the police force and gathering evidence to reach the real killer. He gets very close to uncovering the truth but is shocked to hear that the real culprit died in an accident.
Despite this setback, Aravind manages to prove Murali's innocence and brings the real murderer to justice. In the final scene, Aravind reads a letter written by the murderer before his death, and he feels a sense of satisfaction that justice has been served. The movie portrays Aravind's determination to right the wrongs and bring justice to the victim's family, despite facing numerous obstacles along the way.

Aravind Karunakaran, a sub-inspector, and his colleagues, led by his brother Deputy Superintendent Ajith Karunakaran, arrest a suspect named Murali for a murder they believe he committed. However, they soon realize that Murali is innocent and they have framed him with fake evidence. Years later, Aravind returns to his hometown for his niece's wedding and comes across new leads that could exonerate Murali. He rejoins the police force and embarks on his own investigation, which points to a potential serial killer and identity thief who has been responsible for several murders across Kerala.
Aravind's pursuit of justice brings him face-to-face with his former colleagues, who are still trying to protect their reputation and cover up their past mistakes. Despite the obstacles, Aravind is determined to uncover the truth and clear Murali's name, even if it means putting his own life in danger.

The film Salute, directed by Rosshan Andrews and written by Bobby-Sanjay, initially promises to be an engrossing and thrilling investigation story with themes of ethics, corruption, power, and family drama. However, the latter half of the movie falls short of expectations and drags on for too long, leading to a resolution that seems to undermine the protagonist's principled stance.
The story revolves around SI Aravind Karunakaran (Dulquer Salmaan), who returns to his old station to seek files related to a murder and rash driving case. The movie then takes us back in time, where we see Aravind as part of a team led by his older brother, DySP Ajith (Manoj K Jayan), investigating the murder. The investigation is marred by political pressure, leading the team to frame an innocent man by planting evidence.
The writers do an excellent job of creating tension and emotional drama by pitting Aravind's moral compass against the corrupt system. However, the investigation itself becomes convoluted and loses its momentum as the story progresses.
The cinematography by Aslam K Purayil complements the story's moody atmosphere, and the music by Jakes Bejoy sets the tone nicely for the initial tense moments. Manoj K Jayan is excellent as an overbearing personality, while Alencier, Binu Pappu, and others deliver good performances. However, this is undoubtedly Dulquer's film, and he carries the role with style and nuance, effectively portraying a young man trying to find his place in the world and a headstrong investigator who follows his heart to do the right thing.
Salute is a decent thriller that has its moments but falls short of its potential in the latter half. Nevertheless, it's worth a watch for Dulquer's performance and the film's exploration of corruption and morality in the police force.
