This is a complete walkthrough for completing the Sea of Thieves Tall Tale - The Journey to Melee Island. To embark on The Journey to Melee Island Tall Tale in Sea of Thieves, begin by locating Captain Capsize's camp at any outpost. It won't be far from where you typically start the Disney Pirates missions.
If you prefer, you can choose the Monkey Island option from the main menu to spawn directly in front of Captain Capsize, instead of at the nearby tavern.
Look beside her to find a book that allows you to vote on the voyage, similar to other Tall Tales. Once you vote, a cinematic will begin where Captain Capsize and the Pirate Lord instruct you to find Guybrush Threepwood. A green portal will then open at sea nearby. Raise anchor and set sail to pass through the portal.
After coming out the other side of the portal, you'll arrive at Melee Island, accompanied by the original music from the Monkey Island series and the classic purple moonlight shining over the tall spire at the island's heart. Step off your ship, and you'll have the whole island to explore, except for the Governor's mansion. While the upcoming steps can be completed in various orders, this walkthrough follows the optimal route through the mission.
Start by entering the Scumm Bar and talking to various NPCs who can provide helpful hints. Speak with the chef to learn he's waiting for a new assistant, which will become crucial later. Engage in all dialogue options with Spiffy the Dog and interact with one of Guybrush Threepwood's campaign posters to earn a related Commendation.
Head to the jail and take the claw hammer off the table. Then swim to the shipwreck just off the dock and cut the ropes off the cargo crate using your sword. Use the winch and pulley system on the dock to raise the cargo crate to the dock.
Open the cargo crate with the claw hammer and bring its contents to the street merchant in town. Meanwhile, collect 45 Pieces o' Eight scattered around the island to afford the chef's uniform.
Buy the chef's uniform from the general store and wear it. Speak to the chef, and he'll go on break, leaving you to make a stew. You need the hunk of meat from the pot to proceed. However, before leaving, you can perform an additional step in the bar.
As a kitchen worker, you can serve patrons the extra-potent grog, making them fall asleep. You can then steal their money and the clocktower key. Bring the cooked meat to the piranha poodles in the alley behind the church.
Afterward, collect the Gunpowder Gummies left behind by the defeated ghost in the jail. Scour the island to collect a total of 130 Pieces o' Eight. Purchase the rope from the general store and the monkey toy from the street merchant.
Give the monkey toy to Spiffy the dog in the bar and take the bone he drops. Connect this bone to the skeleton left behind by the piranha poodles. Then enter the clocktower, set the clock to midnight, and take the bones found inside.
Head to the guard outside the Governor's mansion, and once he swaps places with Murray, the talking skull, enters the mansion. Inside, collect more coins and take the note and key from the bed. Use the key to open the chest and find four fizzy root beer bottles.
LeChuck, your enemy, will appear outside the mansion. Use the root beer to defeat the ghosts he sends after you. Once the battle is won, drop root beer into the pot inside Corina's voodoo shop to trigger a cinematic.
Corina will inform you that there's more work to do, so you can choose to earn additional Commendations, such as visiting all 10 Memoir Spots on Melee Island and buying the Melee Island history book. Once you're ready, return to Corina and activate the ending to complete the mission.
By finishing the mission and achieving all Commendations along the way, you'll unlock both Captain's ship cosmetics. Show them off with pride as you complete the first Monkey Island Tall Tale in Sea of Thieves.
