Both the protagonist and hostile enemies have a "structural gauge" that, when filled, leaves them vulnerable to finishing attacks as their guard breaks. Players can strategically block strikes, but this gradually fills their own gauge. Evading and parrying are also options, with successful parries stunning enemies or allowing players to throw them in a specific direction.
The game encourages environmental interaction, letting players improvise attacks or change strategies against stronger opponents. Kicking enemies off ledges or using objects as makeshift weapons adds depth to the combat.
