However, the Dance-Off took an unexpected turn in 2014 when an ordinary member of the public named Lee Woods earned the opportunity to join the festivities. Lee had triumphed in an audition that secured the public's vote, granting him a chance to shine on the grand stage.
During Lee's eagerly awaited performance, a quirky twist of fate occurred. Unbeknownst to him, crew member Frankie Fryer had mischievously scattered a layer of slippery baked beans on the floor earlier, unbeknownst to Lee. As fate would have it, Lee lost his footing and took a tumble on the unexpected obstacle, igniting a highly controversial incident famously dubbed "Beangate."
Prior to the mishap, Lee had emerged as the firm favorite among bookmakers to clinch the coveted victory. However, his unexpected slip allowed another participant known as Rocket to seize the crown. Rocket, a seasoned Dance-Off veteran, held an impressive record of five triumphs under his belt, solidifying his status as the undisputed champion. In fact, Rocket's triumph was so significant to him that he had a permanent tattoo etched on his skin to commemorate his stellar achievements.
Regrettably, the Soccer AM Dance-Off feature came to a conclusion in 2015, leaving behind a legacy of vibrant performances, uproarious audience reactions, and unforgettable moments.

Baby Elvis Portrayed by Adam Smith
Baby Elvis captured the hearts of Soccer AM viewers as one of the show's most beloved characters. Smith also appeared as the Danny Dyer-inspired Frankie Fryer. In 2006, Baby Elvis wowed the dancefloor with his quick feet, a touch of the robot, and a vibrant pink jumper, securing victory in the dance off. He repeated his triumph in 2015. Smith remains with Sky, working as a presenter for various shows including Saturday Social, The Debate, and Goals on Sunday. Additionally, he serves as a presenter for Tottenham Hotspur and England.
Rocket
Rocket, whose real name is James Long, initially started as a producer on Soccer AM after gaining work experience with the crew at the age of 15. Over time, he became one of the show's beloved personalities, hosting segments like Skill Skool and Small Talk. However, his most notable achievements were his six victories in the dance off, where he showcased impressive body-popping moves. After a 19-year stint on Soccer AM, Rocket left in 2017 and joined JOE as Head of Sports Production. Unfortunately, JOE faced financial difficulties and went into administration in 2020, resulting in Rocket losing his job. Presently, he holds the position of Head of Production at Mola TV.
Lisa
Lisa, who joined Soccer AM in 2007, made a name for herself behind the scenes of Sky's coverage of Spanish football before becoming a cherished figure on the show. Taking on the persona of Cheryl Mole, Lisa etched herself into Soccer AM history in 2010 by becoming the first female winner of the dance-off, earning the coveted trophy with her cheeky bum wiggle. In 2017, she bid farewell to the program and currently holds the role of a senior production manager for Gravity Media while pursuing her passion as a make-up artist.
Robbie Knox
Robbie Knox, known as The Tramp during his time on Soccer AM, claimed victory in the dance-off in 2002, breaking the winning streak of two-time champion Gadzooks. In 2007, Knox departed the show alongside Tim Lovejoy to establish his production company, Dry Lunch Productions. He currently manages the company while also creating content on YouTube and Twitch. Knox is a co-host on Jaackmaate's Happy Hour podcast and maintains regular contact with fellow Soccer AM alumni, including Tubes, collaborating with him on the 'Go Wild' series on YouTube.
Raj
In a remarkable turn of events that stunned the audience, Raj, a relatively unknown work experience kid, emerged as the unexpected winner of the 2011 Dance Off. As the youngest member of the crew, he surpassed expectations and claimed victory, leaving behind Trev in second place and the defending champion, Lisa, who was considered the bookies' favorite, in third. The moment was filled with disbelief as Raj, clearly taken aback, accepted the trophy from none other than Peter Schmeichel, adding to the astonishment of his triumph.
Trev
Trev, often underrated during Soccer AM's prime, pulled off a surprising 33/1 upset to win the dance-off in 2008, impressing former Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon. He went on to claim the title twice, in 2012, receiving the trophy from John Barnes after defeating Baby Elvis and Tubes. According to his LinkedIn profile, Trev is still employed by Sky Sports and currently serves as an Associate Producer, contributing to shows like The Fantasy Football Club.

Soccer Am
Soccer AM, a comedy talk show centered around British football, was produced by Sky Sports and broadcasted on Sky Showcase, Sky Sports Premier League, and Sky Sports Football from 1994 to 2023. Beginning in 2010, the program introduced a short delay in its broadcast to edit out any offensive language or inappropriate content from guests.
