Solo Leveling, also known as Only I Level Up, is a popular South Korean web novel written by Chugong. Initially serialized on KakaoPage, a digital comic and fiction platform, the novel was first published on November 4, 2016, by D&C Media under their Papyrus label. Later on, a webtoon adaptation of Solo Leveling was created and illustrated by Jang Sung-rak (also known as Dubu), the CEO of Redice Studio, and serialized on KakaoPage beginning on March 4, 2018.
The first season of the webtoon concluded on March 19, 2020, with the second season starting on August 1, 2020, and ending in December 2021. The webtoon's chapters were subsequently compiled and published by D&C Media into five volumes as of September 20, 2022. Additionally, the novel has been officially licensed in English by Yen Press.
Furthermore, a role-playing video game based on Solo Leveling is currently in development by Netmarble. Moreover, an anime television series adaptation of the novel, produced by A-1 Pictures, is scheduled to premiere in Q1 2024. It's worth noting that Jang Sung-rak, the illustrator of the webtoon adaptation, passed away on July 23, 2022, due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
Solo Leveling Ragnarok Manga Chapter 1 Release Date and Time
While anime announcements can take a while to come to fruition, manga updates are typically faster to be released. As such, the creators of the Solo Leveling Ragnarok Manga wasted no time in revealing the official release date of the spin-off's first chapter. Kakao announced in April 2023 a sequel titled Solo Leveling: Ragnarok. The web novel was released on April 10, 2023, through KakaoPage while a webtoon adaptation is under development. It's worth noting that all chapters of the manhwa will be exclusively available on the official pages of Kakaopage.
Synopsis of Sol Leveling
The story of Solo Leveling takes place in a world where hunters, humans with supernatural abilities, must fight dangerous monsters to protect humanity from certain doom. The protagonist, Sung Jinwoo, is a weak hunter who struggles to survive in this perilous world. However, everything changes for him after his party narrowly survives a deadly double dungeon, but not without significant losses.
Suddenly, a mysterious program called the System chooses Jinwoo as its sole player and grants him an incredibly rare ability to level up in strength. Moreover, anyone he kills will turn into a loyal minion called a shadow. Jinwoo embarks on a journey to fight against various enemies, including humans and monsters, to uncover the secrets of the dungeons and the source of his newfound powers.
