In 2023, prior to the When We Were Young festival, Something Corporate had announced a pre-reunion show. This performance marked Something Corporate's first full show since 2010, although they had come together for a few songs during Andrew McMahon's 40th birthday concert in 2022. The decision to reunite for this show had come after their successful performance at the birthday event.
Andrew McMahon had expressed his excitement about the upcoming show, saying, "When we got back together for my birthday show, everything just clicked and we knew it was time. Something Corporate
Formed in 1998 in Orange County, California, Something Corporate (often referred to as SoCo) was an American rock band. The final lineup comprised vocalist and pianist Andrew McMahon, guitarists Josh Partington and Bobby Anderson, bassist Kevin Page, and drummer Brian Ireland.
After their formation, the band recorded demos that later became the independent studio album "Ready... Break." They signed with MCA Records, releasing their debut EP "Audioboxer" under the Drive-Thru Records label. Their track "If You C Jordan" became a hit, reaching number 29 on the Alternative Songs chart. Their major label debut, "Leaving Through the Window" (2002), peaked at number 101 on the Billboard 200 and premiered at Number 1/Hot Shot Debut on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart.
Going on hiatus in 2004 and without recording contracts, the members pursued individual projects. Andrew McMahon found success with Jack's Mannequin. The band briefly reunited in 2006 at a Jack's Mannequin show. In 2009, they officially announced their reunion, touring in 2010 and releasing a greatest hits album. Andrew McMahon announced selling over a million records by 2010. The band made a surprise comeback for McMahon's 40th birthday in 2022, performing at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California.
