"Sonic Superstars" is a video game where you play as characters like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. You go through different levels to stop Doctor Eggman, who's up to no good. Each character has special abilities. For example, Sonic can dash after jumping, Tails can fly, Knuckles can glide and climb, and Amy uses a hammer to attack and can jump twice. There's also a new character named Trip who you can unlock.
You'll explore 12 zones, each with its own challenges like springs, loops, and rings that act as your health. Some zones have special features, like a jungle with vines to swing on, or a futuristic zone where you turn into a different kind of creature. Each zone has different parts, called acts. At the end of each act, you'll face a boss you have to beat.
Between levels, you'll be in a 2D hub world where you can choose where to go next and change your character. The whole game takes about four hours to finish with one character, and around 15 hours to complete with all of them.
There are special stages where you can get powerful abilities and collect Chaos Emeralds. These stages are like mazes or swinging challenges. Collecting all seven emeralds lets your character become super powerful.
You can play with friends, and up to four players, which is a new feature in the series. There's also a player-versus-player mode where you can create robots to compete in different challenges like races and battles. You can play with others online or locally.
