Splatoon 3 Releases Update 5.0.1

Splatoon 3 has a new update called 5.0.1. This update is here to make the game better for players. It fixes some problems with how players move and play together. For example, it makes it easier to climb walls and stay on the ground properly. Also, if you bought the first part of the extra stuff for the game, you'll see a special banner from Off the Hook in the game's lobby.

And the exciting news is that in spring 2024, there will be more extra stuff coming! It's called Side Order, and it's the second part of the DLC. In this new part, you'll get to play a brand-new single-player adventure inside something called the Spire of Order, which sounds pretty cool.

Splatoon 3 Gameplay

In Splatoon 3, just like in the earlier games of the series, it's a third-person shooter. You get to pick whether you want to be an Inkling or Octoling for your character, and both of them use colorful ink as their bullets. The weapons in the game are pretty unique – they look like everyday objects. For instance, there are big paint rollers called Rollers that are great for covering lots of ground with ink but work best up close.

On the other hand, Chargers are like sniper rifles, great for shooting foes from afar but not so good at painting the ground. Splatoon 3 makes things even more interesting by adding new main, sub, and special weapons. Main weapons you can choose, sub weapons come with main ones and use up more ink, and special weapons are tied to specific main weapons and need you to ink the ground a bit before you can use them.

What's cool is that Inklings and Octolings can turn into squids or octopuses, which is called the "swim form." In this form, you can climb ink-covered walls and swim faster in ink than you can walk in your regular form. To keep your weapons going, you need ink, and dipping into ink while in swim form refills it faster than in human form. And don't worry, all the classic weapons from the previous Splatoon games are back in Splatoon 3.
