Star Citizen is an upcoming multiplayer game that simulates space trading and combat, developed and published by Cloud Imperium Games for Windows. The game was announced in 2012 through private crowdfunding and a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $2 million. Despite its ambitious plans to revive the unrealized ideas for Freelancer, the game has faced criticism for its long development process and lack of a clear release date. Production began in 2011 and pre-production started in 2010, with the release originally planned for 2014 but has been repeatedly delayed. To allow players to experience gameplay features before release, the developers have released modules, with the latest module called the "Persistent Universe" being available for testing since 2015. However, backers who have abandoned the project have faced challenges in receiving a refund. Despite being in development for more than a decade, there is currently no projected commercial release date for Star Citizen.

We are currently investigating an issue that players are facing while attempting to log in to the game, resulting in error codes 30009/30018. Although the problem sometimes resolves itself after a certain amount of time, players may need to take additional steps to resolve the issue. The problem mostly occurs when players log out or crash while in a no-fly zone or inside a ship. Until we can identify the cause of the issue, we suggest that players avoid logging out in a ship's bed to minimize the risk of encountering this error. If you left the game while on board a ship and encountered this error while playing with a friend, and your ship is still present in the game, you can ask your friend to destroy the ship. Alternatively, you can try entering Arena Commander with the same ship you previously logged out in, as this may help resolve the issue on the Persistent Universe.
Cause of Star Citizen Error Code 30009
The playtest will continue for as long as possible, ideally overnight until the next day, subject to the build's stability. The objective of the playtest is to test the initial login flow, loading into the universe, spawning a ship, and overall stability. If the build proves stable, players are encouraged to explore and test bounty missions, updated restricted area designs, Security Post Kareah (Consensual PVP only), and new FPS missions using the Orison platforms (Requires Crusader Security Mercenary Intro Mission).
If your character becomes stuck or you encounter a 30009 error, please wait no more than 5-10 minutes, and if the issue persists, try recopying your account to the PTU. These are not the only issues known to us internally, but they were selected for this playtest. Known issues may not affect all players, and some may experience them more frequently than others. Please avoid Lorville in this build as there are multiple issues that prevent players from navigating the city and accessing the spaceport. Lastly, exiting to the main menu and rejoining the Persistent Universe will cause the game to crash 100% of the time, and players will need to restart the game to rejoin.
How to Fix Star Citizen Error Code 30009?
Compared to the previous build a couple of days ago, this build contains numerous updates. We have implemented several networking improvements to prevent players from encountering issues after crashes and reloading. We have also resolved over 10 client and server crashes and multiple deadlocks that were identified during the previous test. Additionally, we have addressed shopping services, tram issues (including jittery trains and elevators), prison-related problems, and a 19000-entity loading issue.
Both Arena Commander and Star Marine are available for playtesting. However, since the features for version 3.18.0 are still in an incomplete state, we are not requesting feedback on specific features such as the updated cargo system, new crash sites, and other features.
