Starfield Video Game

Starfield is a new video game made by Bethesda Game Studios. It was first talked about in 2018. The game happens in space and is the first new idea from Bethesda in a very long time. It came out on September 6, 2023, for Windows computers and Xbox Series X/S. People who review games are mostly like Starfield. They liked the big world you can explore, the space setting, and the music. But some didn't like the story in the game.

Prior to the official launch of the game on September 6, PureDark, a modder, released a free mod to incorporate DLSS 2 into Starfield. PureDark also introduced another mod, DLSS 3 with frame generation, but this one wasn't free, and it came with DRM protection, which caused some controversy in the gaming community. Shortly after its release, the DRM for the DLSS 3 mod was successfully bypassed.

Visit the Clinic

You need to go to a place called "The Clinic" because someone named Maya Cruz had a big surgery there. It's a bit confusing because there are many places with that name. But don't worry, the Marshal told you to talk to Ranger Ben Armistead, and The Clinic is in space around a planet called Deepala.

You'll have to contact The Clinic, fly there, and dock your ship. It's pretty cool because it's in space.

When you get inside, you'll see the boss talking to a delivery person. Look to the left, and you'll find something called Constellation Guide 04 on a table, which might be useful. You can also talk to the doctors if you want.

Go further inside, and on the right, you'll find a real Ranger Station. Ranger Ben Armistead is there. He doesn't have much to do, but talk to him anyway. He already knows what's going on. He'll take you to meet the computer person named "Ari Miller."

Conversation with Ari Miller

Ari is a cool guy, and he checks his computer for information about Maya, but he doesn't find anything. However, he does give you some names that Maya might be using as an alias.

Now, there are two ways to continue the mission:

  • If you have a skill called "Security" (which is like being good at picking locks), you can choose the Security Option. This gives you an extra task to use the computer in the Ranger Station, which has special access, to find out what's causing problems in the system. It's interesting because you can discover something unusual called the "Disrupter Mk4," and it's linked to a person named "Catalina Rivera" in the VIP Section.

  • If you don't have that skill, Ari will give you some names to investigate. You can go around the station and talk to the women here to figure out if they are Maya or not. This way, you can narrow down your search and find out that your suspect is in the VIP section.

It's no surprise that Maya would be in the VIP section!

Enter the VIP Wing

The VIP Wing is where Maya is because it's very private, and The Clinic doesn't let just anyone in. Ari will tell you that you should talk to Dr. Cassidy, who's in charge of that section. However Dr. Cassidy is strict about following the rules.

Ari is really helpful and tells you that there's a spare access card in Dr. Cassidy's office. Isn't Ari great?

Now, there are two ways to handle this:

  • You can choose to talk to Dr. Cassidy first. He's not easily convinced, so it's a good idea to use a persuasive approach. If you have a persuasive skill, it will help. If you succeed, you'll get the VIP Wing Keycard from him.

  • Alternatively, you can find Dr. Cassidy's office and open his safe. It's not too hard to pick the lock, and inside, you'll find the keycard. It's a simple lock, and there's not much else in the safe.

Once you have the keycard, you can enter the VIP section, but keep in mind that it's a different area and might load separately.

Search for Clues

When you enter the VIP Wing, things look pretty bad. There's a dead doctor in the area, and a turret starts shooting at you! You'll need to act quickly to take down the turret. It's clear that Maya has taken control of the turret. Be careful as you go into her room because there are mines on the floor. But apart from those dangers, you can explore the area. You'll find several medkits, which can be helpful.

While you're in Maya's room (and don't forget to notice the nearby docking lock), look around. You should discover a slate near her bed with an urgent message. It's a good idea to read it immediately. Leaving it behind would be a mistake because Maya doesn't know who's coming for her, and it might contain important information.

How to Investigate Starfield Surgical Stike Abandoned Mine?

Visit Sakharov / Investigate the Abandoned Asteroid Mine

  • If you go back to your ship and try to report to Ben or the doctors about the dead co-worker, no one seems to care. Strange, right?

  • Now, let's get into your ship and head to the old asteroid mine at Sakharov. When you arrive there, you'll notice that the Asteroid Mine is another floating structure that you can dock with, which is pretty cool.

  • As you go inside, keep an eye out for a Display Mannequin with a full set of gear that you can take for yourself. It's a nice find.

  • In the first room with a big crystal, some creatures called Shardhoppers will appear from the ground and try to attack you. Be ready to fight them, and watch out for mines on the right side of the room.

  • After dealing with the Shardhoppers, you'll come across a locked door. To open it, you'll need to use your laser to break the locks. This leads to a larger room with a robot as the first enemy, but there are more Shardhoppers and a powerful Level 20 Robot Dog further in. Be prepared to use strong weapons or explosives to deal with them.

  • Once you defeat the Robot Dog, you'll find a powered-down door at the end of the path. Follow the wire up the ramp to a room where you can hack a computer with a Novice Lock to unlock the door. This allows you to explore more rooms with Shardhoppers and turrets. Be sure to save your progress.

  • Continue until you reach an elevator that takes you to a huge area. This room is challenging due to the robots roaming around, including a Robot Dog. The real threat, though, is the four laser turrets in the corners. Use long-range attacks to take them out and avoid getting killed.

  • Your goal is to ascend the central structure and reach the top. Deal with another turret and use your laser to unlock a locked door. This is where you'll find Maya.

  • Shoot Maya down, and she won't talk until you "kill" her. Afterward, talk to her and try to get some answers. She won't have much to say, but she'll give you an Encrypted Slate, which Alex might find valuable.

  • It's up to you whether you want to finish her off or let her die naturally. Some players choose to kill her because she murdered a doctor without reason.

Provide the Encryption to Alex Shadid

It's time to go back to The Rock and give the Encrypted Slate to Alex. On your way back, you can use the elevator from the area where Maya was. Make sure to thoroughly search for items, as some doors may open to provide shortcuts.

Notably, after passing through a large door, you'll find a big chest on the right with a unique item, and further back near the beds is an unlocked safe with another unique item.

Head back to your ship and return to The Rock.

When you're back at The Rock, talk to Alex. He's not finished with the first encrypted slate yet, but this new one you found will definitely help.

Give him the Encrypted Slate, and that will complete the mission. Great job, Ranger!
