Strayed Lights Walkthrough

If you're interested in witnessing the capabilities of a small team in developing an action game, you can now play Strayed Lights on PC and consoles. In the game, you engage in combat with multiple enemies, utilizing a parry system as the main mechanic. However, some enemy patterns may be more challenging to anticipate than others. To assist you in your gameplay, here are some tips and a walkthrough for a boss fight.

Content 1: Tips for Parrying Attacks

If you find it difficult to switch between attack strings and blocking in Strayed Lights, there is no need to worry. You can still avoid taking damage by parrying, regardless of the color of the attack. However, keep in mind that you will not recover any lost health by parrying attacks.

Content 2: Dodging Purple Attacks

It is essential to be ready to dodge whenever possible in Strayed Lights. Most enemies will have a purple-colored corrupted attack in their arsenal, which cannot be parried. Hence, it is crucial to prepare to dodge these attacks to avoid taking damage.

Content 3: Using All-Colour Parry Skill and Healing

When it comes to selecting skills in Strayed Lights, there are three options, and choosing the right one can significantly impact gameplay. We recommend unlocking the top-left skill that allows you to gain energy from parrying attacks regardless of their color. As you upgrade this skill, you will also gain the bonus of health recovery. As mentioned in the game's review, having a good defense can be the best offense in Strayed Lights.

Content 4: Exploring the World

In Strayed Lights, the world's scenery is a beautiful sight to behold. Take your time to explore alternate paths and collect stray orbs. Enjoy the view and immerse yourself in the game's beauty.

Strayed Lights Info

Embers' debut in game development is the action-adventure game, Strayed Lights. The game presents a beautifully crafted and colorful world, but it is not without its dangers. Shadowy demons lurk in this mysterious place, and players must defeat them to advance and become more powerful.

Beyond the core gameplay, Strayed Lights offers additional features. This review provides a detailed examination of every aspect of the game, including gameplay mechanics, storyline, graphics, and PC performance. The review leaves no aspect unexplored to provide an in-depth analysis of Strayed Lights.

Strayed Lights Gameplay

Strayed Lights offers a straightforward gameplay experience, yet its combat mechanics set it apart. Players can engage in combat using a variety of moves, such as attacking, parrying, jumping, and dashing, while earning special powers to deal more damage and stun enemies. Successful parrying allows players to gain energy, which can be used to defeat enemies instantly.

However, the color alternation of both the player and enemy creates an additional level of difficulty, requiring the player to match the opponent's color while parrying. These unique mechanics keep the gameplay exciting and challenging, making it one of the most engaging aspects of the game. While "boss" battles were relatively easy once the patterns were learned, the platforming sections add an extra layer of adventure to the game.

In Strayed Lights, players can earn upgrade points by defeating bosses and collect energy orbs to enhance their overall energy affinity. While players can also collect energy from pink eggs, their purpose is left for players to discover.

Strayed Lights Review

Strayed Lights is an indie fantasy game that begins with a visually stunning sequence. It features a protagonist that evolves from a newborn spark to an adult, battling a shadowy version of itself and unwittingly releasing an evil force. However, the plot doesn't offer much more than that, and the gameplay takes center stage.

The game's combat system is primarily based on parrying, heavily inspired by Sekiro. Enemies change colors before they attack, and players must parry with the same color. Successful parries add to an energy gauge, which can be used to defeat enemies with a surge of stored power. Defense is the smart strategy as your hits are weak, and parrying rewards health. There's a third attack type that can be dodged, but this mainly serves to add variety to enemy combos.

While combat takes some getting used to, it becomes quite empowering once you get into the rhythm, particularly in boss fights. The game features a sparsely populated open world with regular monsters, but the real challenge comes from multi-stage encounters with gigantic creatures. The boss fights are particularly enjoyable, with unique combat abilities that require players to switch up their logic on the fly.

However, combat can become cumbersome in group encounters, and normal encounters can feel repetitive, making them feel like stop gaps to the next boss. Nevertheless, the game is beautifully presented, with an interesting but flawed combat system, lovely music (thanks to Journey composer Austin Wintory), and exciting boss battles that make it worth your time.
