Succession Season 4 Review
Succession fans are feeling bittersweet as they watch the fourth and final season of the HBO drama. Creator Jesse Armstrong seems to be going out on a high note, with the first four episodes featuring a toxic power struggle that tests different dynamics and provides the ensemble with substantial material. Waystar Royco's relevancy, especially ATN, is wobbling, but Succession maintains its creative grip and continues to hurtle toward its conclusion, never holding back.
The previous season ended with Tom Wambsgans's betrayal of his wife, Shiv, in a twist that is hard to top. Succession avoids getting stuck in a creative rut because its central figures are always negotiating their place within the power structure, with enough humor to keep us laughing during family disputes.
