His death certificate lists blunt trauma to the head and body, as well as gunshot wounds to the torso and limbs, as the causes of death. It is verified that in addition to being shot, he was also struck and dragged by a car. After demonstrators picketed the funeral home in North Attleborough, the body of Tsarnaev was transferred there. It was then given to the Graham, Putnam, and Mahoney Funeral Parlor in Worcester.

More than 120 other places in the United States and Canada, including Boston, Cambridge, a state prison, and others, refused to let Tsarnaev's body be buried there.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev run over

The Tsarnaev brothers murdered a police officer on April 18, 2013, and then committed a carjacking in the Boston neighborhood of Allston-Brighton. The brothers "decided spontaneously" to travel to New York and bomb Times Square, it was later revealed under interrogation. The brothers in the stolen automobile were recognized by a Watertown police officer shortly after midnight on April 19. The suspect cars both went onto Laurel Street and stopped at the junction of Laurel and Dexter.

A police officer followed the vehicle while awaiting the arrival of other units to conduct a high-risk traffic stop. The brothers possessed "an arsenal of guns," according to Watertown Police. When Tamerlan finally ran out of bullets, he flung his empty Ruger pistol, but the police caught him. The police tried in vain to pull Tamerlan out of the way and handcuff him before Tamerlan's younger brother Dzhokhar drove the stolen SUV toward him and them.

The automobile nearly missed the Watertown officers as it ran over Tamerlan and dragged him down the street. Half a mile away, Dzhokhar parked the car, then ran out on foot. After being captured with serious injuries, Tamerlan Tsarnaev passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at 1:35 a.m.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev shootout

Tsarnaev was shot numerous times before being captured by police in Watertown, a suburb of Boston, in the early hours of April 19, 2013. Key specifics and the precise order of events are still unclear. The federal indictment backs up the police claim that Tsarnaev's younger brother drove him over with an SUV and dragged him behind the car for 20 feet (6 meters).

Tsarnaev angrily resisted attempts by paramedics to treat him while he was being driven to the hospital, pulling himself from the stretcher and screaming, according to paramedic Michael Sullivan, who treated him after the gunfight. He was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where despite emergency medical personnel's best efforts to revive him, he was declared dead from a number of serious wounds, significant blood loss, and cardiac and respiratory arrest.

He did not appear to have been run over, according to the emergency room doctors. He was hit by a police SUV, according to an eyewitness, before being shot many times. The parents of Tsarnaev continue to insist on his innocence. According to a statement made by his mother, "America stole my kids away from me. My children were undoubtedly not involved in anything.
