Teen Mom 2 is an American reality television series that debuted on MTV on January 11, 2011. Originally, the show followed the lives of Jenelle Evans, Chelsea Houska-DeBoer, Kailyn Lowry, and Leah Messer, who were featured in the second season of 16 and Pregnant.
It portrayed their experiences navigating early motherhood while also exploring their evolving relationships with family, friends, and romantic partners. The series shed light on the challenges faced by young mothers raising their children.
In June 2017, it was announced that Briana DeJesus from Teen Mom 3 would join the cast of Teen Mom 2. Later, in May 2019, Jade Cline from Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant joined the show following Jenelle Evans' departure. In October 2020, Chelsea Houska announced her departure after ten seasons, and she was subsequently replaced by Ashley Jones from Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant.

1) Jenelle Evans
The story of Jenelle Evans is a significant part of Teen Mom 2 history. Over the years, fans have witnessed her journey through marriages, divorces, rehab, and encounters with the law.
Initially introduced in 2011, Evans struggled with partying, leading to a strained relationship with her mother and the eventual surrender of custody of her oldest son, Jace. She sought love with various partners, and in 2014, she had her second child, son Kaiser, with her former partner Nathan Griffith.
In 2015, Evans met David Eason on Tinder, and they got married. Together, they welcomed their daughter Ensley in 2017. Their relationship has had its ups and downs, including explosive arguments. In 2019, Evans called the police on Eason, alleging assault, but later clarified it as a misunderstanding.
In a controversial incident, Eason allegedly shot and killed their family dog, Nugget, after it reportedly bit their daughter. Evans temporarily lost custody of her children but regained custody of Kaiser and Ensley. However, her oldest child, Jace, remained under the custody of her mother.
An investigation into the dog incident concluded that Eason would not face animal cruelty charges, as Evans admitted to fabricating the story for publicity. Evans claimed to feel attacked and exploited without reason.
Due to the animal cruelty incident, Evans was fired from Teen Mom 2. However, she acquired two new dogs with Eason shortly after.
In a TV interview, Eason explained that their dog was euthanized due to concerns about their daughter's safety, stating it had displayed aggression towards the child. Evans expressed uncertainty about her status with MTV and hinted at the possibility of returning to the show.
The drama continued as Evans announced her split from Eason and obtained a temporary restraining order. They reconciled but faced legal troubles, with Eason being arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and driving with a revoked license and an open container.
In March 2022, Evans revealed her diagnosis of fibromyalgia, which played a role in her decision not to participate in Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. Despite the challenges, her manager stated that her relationship with Eason was the healthiest it had been in the past five years.
2) Chelsea Houska
Chelsea Houska, formerly known as Chelsea DeBoer, gained fame through Teen Mom 2 due to her relationship drama and custody battle with her ex-boyfriend Adam Lind over their daughter, Aubree. However, Lind eventually gave up on seeking joint custody, and Houska moved on with her now-husband, Cole DeBoer.
The couple got engaged in 2015, married in 2016, and started their family. They welcomed their first child together, a son named Watson, in January 2017, followed by their second child, a daughter named Layne, the following year.

3) Kailyn Lowry
Kailyn Lowry's journey on Teen Mom 2 began with her relationship struggles with Jo Rivera, with whom she shares a son named Issac. The couple faced challenges while co-parenting, leading to their eventual split. In later seasons, Lowry started dating Javi Marroquin, and they eventually got married. After her split from Marroquin, DeJesus started dating a new man named John Rodriguez, although she preferred to keep their relationship private. However, their relationship ended in November 2019 when DeJesus broke up with Rodriguez via text.
