Terra Nil Full Gameplay Walkthrough

Complete the Flooded City Continental Region in Terra Nil

If you’re looking to clear your first Terra Nil Continental Region map, this guide will walk you through the process step-by-step. However, it is recommended that you read through the entire guide before starting to play. You'll learn important details such as how all the continental region animal habitats are formed before creating biomes, which can help you achieve 100 percent completion without repeating regions. This guide focuses on the Flooded City Continental Region, which is the fourth and probably toughest region type.

Avoid a Radiation Catastrophe

Before starting the region, it is important to identify the locations of the three Waste Storage Bunkers and plan accordingly. The guide suggests that you create a Tidal Turbine that covers its space, with at least one free spot to add a power-using device, and identify a square of concrete or rock in range of each Tidal Turbine that is as close as possible to each bunker, to later place a Radiation Cleanser. This will prevent a radiation catastrophe from occurring later. Once phase one (Greenery coverage) is complete, the ground will become unstable, causing the three bunkers to burst and become sources of radiation. Quickly place three Radiation Cleansers at the sites. This will cap your radiation, allowing the building of three Heliocages to create the Sunflowers biome.

Best Dredge and Place Your Turbines

To create greenery, you’ll likely have a stretch of raised ground in the northwest of the map. If you're looking to get all of the animal types, you'll want greenery around at least one of the Derelict Skyscrapers. Use the Undersea Dredgers to fill in shallow waters around them with earth. You don’t need to use all three uses for each dredger. Their placement is important for Tidal Turbines. After using dredger or two to make land, use Loading Docks to recycle the dredgers. Use Seismic Detonators to make the routes for the Loading Docks. Create holes to place Tidal Turbines will be in place to deal with your radiation issues later, and for Toxin Scrubbers and Irrigators.

Create the Sunflower and Bamboo Biomes

To create the Sunflowers biome, immediately place three Radiation Cleansers within close-as-possible range to your Waste Storage Bunkers. You need to do this quickly because the screen will start to wobble, and the bunkers will burst, releasing radiation. If you don’t have the cleansers in place, this will spread quickly, destroying greenery and making it impossible to build in the radiation areas. To make the Bamboo biomes, place Bamboo Nurseries on Skyscraper Frames. This requires you to have recycled near to Derelict Skyscrapers to reduce them to frames, and they need to have greenery around their base to create the biome.

Create Deciduous Forest and Lagoons

To create lagoons using the Thalassic Purifier, you need to make sure they are fully enclosed areas of water, and you might need to use Mineralizers or Seismic Detonators to extend or create ocean areas. You must raise the temperature to at least five degrees to place them, and if you want the production bonus, raise it to 10 degrees. To make a Deciduous Forest, you can use a Conservatory on Toxin Scrubbers to create animal habitats without removing any necessary greenery.

Survey All Six Continental Region Animals

To survey all six continental region animals, you need to know the requirements for each. For example, the Peacock needs 24+ Greenery tiles, and the Boar requires 8+ greenery and 12+ forest tiles, and it can be placed at the base of a skyscraper frame to also get the Eagle (6+ skyscraper frame tiles). The Panda needs 20+ Bamboo tiles and 6+ greenery tiles, while the Sea Otter requires 12+ Ocean tiles and 12+ Kelp Forest tiles, and the Turtle needs 20+ Lagoon tiles. You only need three of these animals to complete the stage.

Fill Your Seed Banks and Build Your Rocket

To fill your seed banks and build your rocket, you first need to convert to the Flying Recycling Drone and place your Rocket Silo. The rocket consists of nine parts that cost 150 each, but you only need to build the first few pieces and place your Satellite Uplink if you're low on funds. Once you launch the Satellite Uplink and build more sections of the ship, you can access the Biome Scan, collect seeds, and generate funds by recycling. You can use the direction arrows to target areas and click the target button to gather seeds, and there's no pressure to do this quickly, so take your time.

Terra Nil Full Gameplay

Terra Nil is a city-building game with a twist that sets it apart from others in its genre. The objective is not to construct a bustling metropolis, but rather to revive a barren wasteland and restore it to a lush ecological paradise, before dismantling all the buildings to allow nature to thrive. The game has four distinct regions, each with its own unique challenges, biomes, and wildlife. To achieve this, players must strategically place various buildings across the landscape that aid in terraforming. Wind turbines provide power to toxin scrubbers, which cleanse the soil for irrigation, and water pumps refill dried river beds. Additional tools allow players to create new rivers and stone tiles anywhere on the map. For every converted tile, players earn points that can be used to unlock further buildings and upgrades.

In the second stage, players can upgrade existing structures to create biomes such as wetlands, meadows, and forests. As these biomes are restored, herds of deer, flocks of birds, schools of fish, and bears wander onto the map. The game's unique selling point is in its third phase, where players, having restored a sufficient amount of the ecosystem and weather, must recycle their buildings to create an airship on which they will leave the map. This leaves no trace of their presence, only a rewilded paradise.
