The Big Bang Theory

The series initially focused on five main characters living in Pasadena, California: Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper, physicists at Caltech who shared an apartment; Penny, their neighbor, and aspiring actress; and their socially awkward friends and coworkers, Howard Wolowitz and Raj Koothrappali. As the show progressed, supporting characters like Amy Farrah Fowler, Bernadette Rostenkowski, and Stuart Bloom were promoted to starring roles.

The Big Bang Theory was filmed in front of a live audience and produced by Chuck Lorre Productions and Warner Bros. Television. While it received mixed reviews in its first season, it gained a more favorable reception in subsequent seasons. The show consistently ranked within the top ten in ratings and reached the number one spot in its eleventh season.

It received numerous award nominations, including Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series, and won seven Emmy Awards out of 46 nominations.
