The King of Fighters 15

The King of Fighters (KOF) is a bunch of fighting video games made by SNK. It all started in 1994 with The King of Fighters '94 game. At first, these games were made for SNK's Neo Geo MVS arcade machines. They kept using Neo Geo MVS until 2004 when they decided to switch to a different arcade machine called Atomiswave. They made two King of Fighters games for Atomiswave, which were The King of Fighters Neowave and The King of Fighters XI. But after that, SNK stopped using Atomiswave.

Now, the newest arcade machine they use is called Taito Type X2, and they started using it with The King of Fighters XII. They also made versions of these games for different video game consoles. The latest game in the series is called The King of Fighters XV, and it came out in February 2022.

The King of Fighters 15, also known as KOF XV, is a fighting game made by SNK. It came out on February 17, 2022, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. This game is special because it's the first in The King of Fighters series that was created using Unreal Engine 4, and it's the first one to use GGPO rollback networking.

The story happens after The King of Fighters XIV, and it mainly focuses on two fighters, Shun'ei and Isla, who have special powers related to different dimensions. They, along with other familiar characters, are up against new threats. People liked the game for its characters, the way you play in teams, and its smooth online performance. However, some didn't like the story mode, found the tutorials a bit complicated, and thought some of the game mechanics were not great.

The King of Fighters 15 Gameplay

The King of Fighters XV has a gameplay system where you make teams of three fighters, just like the previous games in the series. There's a move called Shatter Strike, which is a defensive move that can also be used in an offensive way. Like before, there's something called the MAX Mode, where fighters can do stronger moves when their energy bars are full. In this game, characters can use special moves in a MAX/EX version even without going into MAX Mode. The game has different online modes, including Ranked Match, Casual Match, Room Match, and Online Training.

For beginners, there's a single button called "Rush" that helps them do combos and special/super moves easily. It's an updated version of what was in The King of Fighters XIV. Shatter Strike is a defensive move, but it can be used offensively too if you time it right. It's kind of like a move called Focus Attack from Street Fighter IV. In The King of Fighters XIV, people mostly used Max Mode for combos, so in XV, they changed it a bit to balance things. The developers want players to use Max Mode in different situations, not just for combos. They also made some changes when the game is in a neutral state, making attacks stronger and breaking guards more when it's activated.
