A teenager named Shun'ei, who possesses mysterious powers similar to Verse, also enters the tournament with Meitenkun and Benimaru Nikaido to understand his abilities called the Amplified Specters. During the competition, they encounter a rival team led by a girl with similar powers and another Amplified Specter user named Isla. Isla is mentored by a woman named Dolores, who wants to prevent the appearance of more creatures like Verse, believing that Ash Crimson's time-traveling in a previous tournament caused distortions across the multiverse, leading to these events.
A new Amp creature called Re Verse emerges during the tournament, targeting the fighters and transporting them to another world. After defeating Re Verse and a mysterious goddess named Otoma=Raga, the fighters return to their world as the new King of Fighters champions. Isla and Shun'ei also gain control over their respective Amp powers, marking a positive development in their relationship. Importantly, the defeat of Otoma=Raga and Re Verse does not erase the existence of the revived fighters, ensuring their survival beyond these events.
