Heimo moves between his cabins every season. Heimo still lives in the refuge and has no plans of leaving it. Heimo and his wife Edna are leaving there.

Edna Korth is Heimo Korth's wife in The Last Alaskans. She is a mother of 4 daughters and has brought up them all in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Edna and Heimo Korth live about 400 miles away from civilization. They are living in their home alone after their daughters are all grown up and married.

Bob Harte was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, US on 23 July 1951. Bob dropped out of college at age of 21 and hitchhiked his route to Southeast Alaska in the 1970s. Bob decided to settle in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, where he lived alone with his wife and daughter for 40 years. Sadly, Bob died on July 22, 2017, in Fairbanks, Alaska, after a battle with cancer. Bob Harte was 66 years old when he died.

Charlie Jagow is a native of Alaska who was born in Fairbanks in 1998. This man is one of the youngest permit holders of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge who adopts the arctic lifestyle. Charlie grew up on the Eastern edge of the refuge with her eldest sibling, Joanna. But since he was an adult in The Last Alaskans, he was building his cabin. Charlie's whereabouts are unknown now.

Tyler and Ashley Selden first met in college in Duluth, Minnesota, US. After their graduation, the pair moved to Alaska, where they settled. They spend six to eight months of their lives in the refuge but work outside of Fairbanks. They are now in Fort Yukon.

Krin Nelson is Heimo and Edna Korth's youngest daughter. Krin spends most of her life in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge with her new family. Krin's husband's name is Scott Nelson and he is a former marine and experienced trapper. Scott and Krin are now in Juneau, Alaska. The couple has a son named Colby Nelson who was born on 17 April 2017. Since Krin's parents are residents of the refuge, she would inherit their residential rights to stay on the lands.
