The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks Walkthrough

1) Forest Sanctuary

The Spirits' Train allows you to reach your destination by drawing a path with the stylus, but you can still manually change the route or redraw the entire path by tapping "Route." Prior to going to Gage, you should head to Whittleton, a town south of Hyrule Castle Town that appears as "???" when selected while drawing a route. Along the way, you must use the horn to scare off Moinks and fight Snuggles. In Whittleton, talk to the chief in the big house at the back to learn about the path you must take through the woods. Speak to the villager in the house to the right of the chief's house to learn that you should ignore the fourth tree but pay attention to the rest. While you can explore an area northeast of Whittleton, it serves no purpose for now. Instead, take the train to the Lost Woods to find Gage.

In the Lost Woods, follow the direction the dead tree branch points, except for the fourth tree, which has bad directions. Once past the forest, stop at the Forest Sanctuary and find Gage by going north, then right, up some stairs, and blowing up blocks with a bomb flower. After waking up a statue with the Spirit Flute's Song of Awakening, connect the two statues facing each other to open the door and meet Gage. Practice and play the Spirit Flute duet with Gage, then learn the Spirit Flute's Song of Awakening from him. Once you have the song, leave the Forest Sanctuary to take the train to the Forest Temple.

2) The Forest Temple

Once you've visited the Forest Sanctuary, you'll have access to the Forest Temple. Before entering, head to the train platform and tap on the rocket ship to the left of the door to learn the Song of Healing - Green, White, Green - which refills all your hearts within a dungeon but can only be used once. Proceed through the back wall door, and when faced with a locked door, locate the nuts on the ground, throw one at the switch to activate a bridge, cross it, and head south. Eliminate the spinouts in the next room to unlock the doors and reveal a chest. Next, make your way upstairs while avoiding the toxic purple gas clouds, and take down the Vengas in the locked room to earn the Whirlwind from a treasure chest.

To use the Whirlwind, tap on its icon in the top-right corner of the screen, and drag the stylus to aim. Then blow into the microphone to send a gust of wind in the desired direction. Use the Whirlwind to get rid of toxic gas, uncover a chest containing a random treasure item, and unlock the door to the left by pointing the Whirlwind at the propeller at the top of the screen. Awaken the statue on this floor with the Song of Awakening - blue, orange - to reveal hidden treasure.

Go upstairs and use the Whirlwind to blow away the purple clouds blocking the stairs, then find a key in the middle of the room and use the Whirlwind to move it onto the reachable floor area. Step on the switch to the right to open the door and enter the next area, where you'll find another statue that informs you if there are any remaining treasures. Further ahead, you'll face Bubbles surrounded by purple clouds, which can be stunned with the Whirlwind and hit with your sword to open doors to the next room.

Continue to the next area, and use the Whirlwind to blow a nut into a switch to open a chest containing a small key. Backtrack, unlock the door to the right, and fight the Mothula. Use the Whirlwind to shoot back the Bubble it spits at you, stunning it and allowing you to attack with your sword.

After defeating the Mothula, go upstairs, and hit the crystal switch to open the door in the bottom-left area. Clear the path with blast worms, hit the crystal switch again, and blow up the blocks to access the next area.

The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks Guide

To travel to your desired location using the Spirits' Train, you can draw a path with the stylus or change the route by tapping "Route." Before heading to Gage, make a stop at Whittleton, which is south of Hyrule Castle Town and marked as "???" on the route selection. On the way, you'll encounter Moinks, which can be scared off with a horn, and Snurgles that you need to fight. In Whittleton, speak to the chief to learn the correct path through the woods and a villager to find out which tree to ignore. Explore the area northeast of Whittleton if you want, but it is not necessary. Take the train to the Lost Woods to reach Gage. Follow the directions indicated by the dead tree branch, except for the fourth tree, which is incorrect. Reach the Forest Sanctuary, and after playing the Spirit Flute duet with Gage, learn the Song of Awakening. To leave the sanctuary, connect the two statues and open the door. Head to the Forest Temple after that.

Once you visit the Forest Sanctuary, you can access the Forest Temple. Before entering, learn the Song of Healing - Green, White, Green - by tapping on the rocket ship at the train platform. This song refills all your hearts but can only be used once per dungeon. Proceed through the back wall door, cross the bridge, eliminating the spinouts, and unlock the doors to reveal a chest. Make your way upstairs while avoiding the toxic gas, and defeat the Vengas to earn the Whirlwind from a treasure chest. Use the Whirlwind to get rid of toxic gas, reveal hidden treasure, and unlock doors. Fight Bubbles to progress, find a key using the Whirlwind, and defeat Mothula. Hit the crystal switch to access the next area, clear the path with blast worms, and blow up blocks to move forward.
