The Mortuary Assistant Walkthrough

Tutorial

  1. Arriving at the Morgue: The game starts with a cutscene of the player's mother and then arriving at the morgue office. Take the pencil from the desk's right side and use it to sign the paperwork on the door to the right.

  2. Moving the First Body: Open the door and go straight down the hall. Throw the red vase to unlock the "Throw the Vase" achievement. Stand behind the body and grab the gurney. Move to the cabinet marked "Oswald Dolton" and pull out the rack below the in-game hints. Push Dolton into position and close the door.

  3. Moving the Second Body: Open the door marked "Dorothy Page" and move the gurney in front of her. Place Dorothy on the gurney and wheel her over to the office where you found Dolton. Take the clipboard from the desk and inspect Dorothy for distinguishing marks. Enter the information into the computer and click "Record System." Take the Embalming Report from the printer behind you and file it on the wall with the other reports at reception.

  4. Embalming Process: Return to Raymond to begin the embalming process. Use the Needle Injector and Settings Needles to inject the body. Use Eye Caps and embalming fluid to complete the process. Cut open the right side of the neck and drain the body using Artery Forceps and PVC Tubing. Use the IV Reservoir Bag on the Cavity Fluid and insert the Trocar into the stomach area to drain the body completely. Use the Cleaner Base to turn the container into Tank Cleaner. Use the cleaner on the embalming pump and apply a moisturizing wipe to the face.

  5. Achievements: Flush the toilet to unlock the "10/10 Immersion" achievement. Raymond will send you home, completing the tutorial and unlocking the "My First Body" achievement.

Correct Body Ending / Shift 1

  1. Finding the Items: After a phone conversation with a friend, go outside and return to the reception area. Answer the phone and open the red box to collect some items. Grab matches from the table and use the Hall Key to access the embalming room.

  2. Embalming Process: Take the Mini Cassette Tapes and Clipboard from the desk and examine the body. A demon will convince you to return to work if you attempt to leave now. Submit the body's information into the computer, interact with a hanging body, and return to reception to file a report. Embalm the body using the items found in the room, including Baleful Reagant and Letting Strip, and complete the tasks on the clipboard to frighten the player. Take out the Letting Strip and locate the sigil in the room, then repeat the process. Embalm the second body and find a third sigil.

  3. Finding the Night Shift Password: Look for Mr. Delver's access card and password to discover the Night Shift password. Look for four sigils on the computer and retrieve the mark/tablet from the old cabinet. Determine which possessed body is correct and place the mark on it. Move the body to the furnace room and start the incinerator.

Standard Ending

Players must first complete the Correct Body Ending to achieve the Standard Ending. They must complete their work as usual during any shift and then burn the correct body again. After this, they will speak with Raymond, who will express disappointment that the cycle of embalming bodies will never end.

Closure Ending

To obtain the Closure Ending, players need to start their shift in their apartment and check the brown drawers located below the white ones, next to the television. The second drawer from the left will contain what appears to be a green book, but it's actually a container that holds a Necklace, a Five Year Coin, and a Ten Year Coin. Players should pick these up and keep them with them.

Players should then complete their shift as usual and burn the correct body. If they get the haunt where their father is on the gurney, they should place the Necklace on him. If they get either of the haunts where they see themselves hanged, they should place the two coins in their body's hands. As the haunts seem to be entirely random, players may have to keep doing shifts until they encounter these haunts.

Basement Ending

To achieve the Basement Ending, players must embalm a body during their shift, which must be at least their second shift. During the Trocar step, blood will appear on the torso, and the step will come to a halt. Players should then look up to the roof to find a hand, which will transport them to another dimension.

Players should move forward and interact with the bucket to transport to the bathroom. Once there, they should open the door and grab the cleaner base to make Tank Cleaner. Afterward, they should proceed with the embalming.

When they bring in the next body, Raymond will call them toward a mysterious basement door in cold storage. Players should head down and interact with the statues on the left and right side, opening their mouths until eventually, one yields a key from within its mouth. They should note the numbers and markings on each of their heads and take screenshots if needed.

Next, players should unlock the door and continue forward, then take a right toward the grave of David Whitlow. Once they find themselves outside in front of another basement door, they should take a left around the building to make it to the front. Unlocking the safe will allow them to acquire the key they need.

In the embalming room, players should use the numbers and markings they found on the statues on the safe in the lower right cupboard. Doing so will grant them access to the basement key. They should then use the basement key on the basement door outside, complete their shift as usual, and choose the correct body to achieve this ending.

Incorrect Body Ending

To obtain the Incorrect Body Ending, players must work on two bodies and then either burn the wrong body, fail to add Reagant, or have the wrong sigils on their mark. Doing so will cause them to be fully overtaken by the demon before they violently kill Raymond.

Game Over Ending

Players must take too long to fulfill their tasks or burn a body before they're supposed to in order to achieve the Game Over Ending. When the in-game events reach a critical mass, they will eventually pass out and find themselves about to be possessed.

Knowing what's occurring, Raymond will capture players and keep them under lock and key. Unlike the other endings, this one acts as a "game over" in that players can restart the same shift as though nothing happened.

Haunts: Random Events with Multiple Outcomes

Haunts occur randomly or mostly randomly in the game, and they can have various outcomes. Some haunts require puzzle solving, and the choices you make during them can either increase or reduce the "possession meter." If the possession meter fills

The Mortuary Assistant Guide

The Mortuary Assistant Guide! In this guide, we will go over some important information about the game, including how to navigate through the game, the different types of haunts you may encounter, and how to solve some of the puzzles that you'll come across.

Navigation:

The Mortuary Assistant is a first-person horror game that takes place in a mortuary. The game is split up into different chapters, with each chapter taking place at a different time of day. In order to progress through the game, you will need to explore the mortuary and interact with different objects.

Haunts:

Haunts are random events that can occur throughout the game. Some of these haunts require puzzle solving and can end in multiple ways. Some haunts may increase your "possession meter," which, if it fills up, will end the game. Other haunts may lead to a specific ending.

Here are some of the haunts you may encounter:

High Risk:

During the embalming stage, you will find yourself in an alternate dimension that serves as a maze. Search around until you find the orange-lit hallway that leads to a door with the words "High Risk" above it. Instead go the other way and open the door. Look left and pick up Keys which will unlock the High Risk wing door. Open the door and interact with the head of the corpse (yours) hanging from the ceiling to find yourself back in the mortuary.

Grandmother:

During embalming and later in the evening, your grandmother may appear at the window. Head to the front door and she'll stab you. Alternatively, you can just stand at the window and she'll eventually vanish. (It shouldn't affect your level of possession either way.)

Apartment:

While at reception, you may find the hall door becomes closed and locked. If you do, head for the main entrance which will lead you to your old rundown apartment (aka the "heroin apartment"). Use the whiteboard on the wall to pick up the items listed in order (you can't pick them up out of order). Upon taking the baggie, a demon will rise up out of the bathtub. Turn around and run down the hall immediately to escape it and avoid raising your possession meter greatly.

Puzzles:

In addition to haunts, you will also come across various puzzles in the game. Here's how to solve one of them:

Apartment Whiteboard:

In the apartment, you will find a whiteboard on the wall. It lists five items that you need to collect in a specific order. Here's where you can find each item:

  • Tubing: Look between the TV and bed and crouch down to grab this.
  • Needle: On the edge of the tub.
  • Lighter: Between the entrance and the fridge along the half wall.
  • Spoon: On the coffee table next to the blue mug.
  • Full baggie: On the counter to the left of the sink.

Once you have collected all of the items, a demon will rise up out of the bathtub. Turn around and run down the hall immediately to escape it and avoid raising your possession meter greatly.

We hope this guide has been helpful in navigating through The Mortuary Assistant. Good luck, and be careful!

The Mortuary Assistant Gameplay

The Mortuary Assistant is an eerie first-person game that immerses players in a mortuary setting. The game revolves around exploration, puzzle-solving, and surviving supernatural events. As the player, you will assume the role of a mortuary assistant who is responsible for preparing bodies for burial.

The gameplay is divided into two main locations: the mortuary and the apartment. The mortuary is where players will spend most of their time, completing various tasks related to the preparation of the deceased. These tasks include embalming the bodies, dressing them, and other related duties. As you progress through the game, you'll encounter haunts or random events that you'll need to solve to continue playing.

Haunts are a significant aspect of the game and can end in multiple ways. Some haunts require puzzle-solving skills and may lead to different endings or increase/decrease the "possession meter." The possession meter is a vital element of the game as it fills up whenever you encounter haunts, and if it fills up completely, the game will end.

Apart from the mortuary, players can also explore an apartment that serves as their residence. Here, you can rest and interact with various objects, preparing for the next day. However, the apartment is also susceptible to haunts that players must solve to progress further in the game.

Throughout the game, players must be mindful of their possession meter and work towards keeping it as low as possible. With each encounter with haunts, the meter increases, and players must avoid letting it fill up entirely to continue playing the game.
