The Night Agent Season 1 Episode 5 Recap
The fifth episode of "The Night Agent" Season 1 begins with a flashback to four years prior when Arrington graduated from the Secret Service Academy. During the ceremony, Ben gives a speech as he is in charge, and Arrington is surprised to see her mother in attendance. Despite not agreeing with Arrington's career choice, her mother is proud of her and wants to support her. Years later, Arrington is taking care of Maddie, who is frustrated with her father using her as a campaign prop. Although she hates being used in this way, Maddie admits to sometimes enjoying the attention. Arrington tries to console her.
During their conversation, Arrington receives a message that an FBI agent is requesting a meeting with her. Peter asks to speak with her privately, and they take a walk. He questions her about the day of the Metro bombing, but Arrington refuses to answer his questions without clearance from the chain of command. Peter shares his theory that Maddie may be in danger and is working under Farr's orders. Arrington promises to answer their questions after getting clearance. Arrington calls Ben for advice, and he tells her to only say that she was not with Maddie on the day of the bombing and reveal nothing else. Ben confronts Farr about Peter's activities, but Farr denies any knowledge and says they will have to wait for Peter to check in for more information. Ben warns Farr to be careful and leaves. Farr tries to contact Peter but is unable to reach him.
At the library, Peter and Rose research the Metro bombing. Rose suggests accessing Hawkins' computer, but Peter thinks talking to Hawkins' widow would be more effective. Rose stays behind to research the ring worn by the killer, and Peter agrees to periodically check in with her via the new burner phone he leaves with her before leaving. Arrington calls Peter to inform him that Maddie is not involved, but Peter's mention of the cafe throws her off. Nonetheless, she remains silent.
The Night Agent Episode 5 Ending Explained
In the previous episode of "The Night Agent," Peter and Rose encountered an old woman who was a Night Agent attempting to flee from her enemies. Unfortunately, she was later murdered by Dale and Ellen. The Vice President visited Maddie in her dorm, but their interaction was strained. Rose hacked into the cafeteria's CC cameras and discovered that Arrington was present during the Metro bombing. Maddie sought permission from Arrington to attend her friend's art exhibit, but she eventually left to visit her art teacher, who was later killed by the man with the rattlesnake tattoo. This individual had orchestrated the Metro bombing and was now plotting something bigger, possibly against the Vice President. The next episode may shed light on the reason behind the tattooed man's actions.
