The Night Manager Ending Explained

Part 1 of The Night Manager concludes on a suspenseful note, where Shaan's credibility is questioned by Shelly's aide Brij Pal. However, with Lipika's assistance, Shaan manages to get Brij Pal removed and is promoted to CEO of one of Shelly's companies. He accepts the offer and shakes Shelly's hand. Meanwhile, Shaan's girlfriend Kaveri catches him snooping around Shelly's private office, but he convinces her that he was searching for his passport and not prying. He also reveals to Kaveri that Shelly is involved in illegal arms dealings. Although Kaveri continues to maintain her relationship with Shelly, their bond is strained, and intimate scenes between Kaveri and Shaan are hinted at in Part 2.

On the other hand, RAW acquires vital information that helps them to bring down Rungta, including the fact that he's almost bankrupt and is relying heavily on a deal with Bargati, an oil heavyweight. However, the deal falls through, putting Lipika and her team in a difficult position as their department head suspects unauthorized activities. Lipika discovers that Rungta has an Indian partner named 'Indradhanush,' to whom she identifies. The audience is led to believe that Indradhanush could be Mitter, the RAW boss, who had previously threatened Lipika's superior and conducted raids on both of their homes. More details will be revealed in Part 2, set to release in June 2023.

The Night Manager Season 1 Recap

The series follows Shaan Sengupta (Aditya Roy Kapoor), a former navy officer who works as a hotel night manager in Dhaka, Bangladesh. While on the job, Shaan gets involved with some high-profile criminals and tries to save a girl's life out of a sense of humanity, even though he's warned to stay away from their dealings. Unfortunately, he fails to save her and witnesses her murder. Two years later, Shaan has moved back to Shimla, India, and is working as a night manager again. He encounters Shelly Rungta (Anil Kapoor), an industrialist who was responsible for the death of the girl in Dhaka. Despite knowing how powerful and dangerous Rungta is, Shaan can't resist getting involved again. He contacts Lipika Sikia Rao (Tillotama Shome) from RAW, and together they plan an undercover operation to bring Rungta down. Shaan becomes a trusted aide of the businessman and gains access to his inner circle, gathering evidence to incriminate him. The story moves to Sri Lanka, where Shaan stays on the Rungta estate and continues to gather intel. However, things get complicated when corruption within the RAW setup is revealed, and Shaan becomes close to Shelly's girlfriend, Kaveri (Sobhita Dhulipala).
