Nearly 10 years after it premiered on MTV, The Real World: Portland is one of the longest running reality TV series. It focuses on a group of diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season as cameras follow their lives and interpersonal relationships. It is also the second season to be filmed in the Pacific Northwest after The Real World: Seattle. That same month, the property was sold to Raymond Management Co., a Middleton, Wisconsin-based hotel developer who planned to convert the site into a 220-room, eight-story hotel.
