At the conclusion of his senior year, Dorsett played in the Big 33 Football Classic, where his future coach, Johnny Majors, witnessed his skills firsthand. Hopewell Stadium was subsequently christened Tony Dorsett Stadium, and in 2001, the school retired his #33 jersey.
