Warzone 2 Season 2 has brought with it a new map, Ashika Island, located off the coast of Japan. The island will serve a dual purpose, acting as both a Resurgence map and a DMZ map. Ashika Island is considerably smaller than the previous Resurgence map, Al Mazrah, making it better suited for close-quarter combat as squads will be forced to fight in close proximity to each other. The Resurgence game mode, where players respawn after a short period of time, has also introduced new Redploy Drones. These drones can be used to move to new circles and can be destroyed by lock-on missiles, making it harder for players to reposition themselves during the game. One of the unique features of Ashika Island is the 'Restore Honor' mechanic, where players drop a dog tag after their first death in a Resurgence or Battle Royale match. Players can recover the tag themselves or get help from a squadmate. Recovering the tag awards Cash and a single UAV ping, which reveals nearby enemies and Supply Boxes. There is a new Search and Seizure Contract that requires players to retrieve and move a marked vehicle, and a new Public Event known as Data Heist. During Data Heist, players must begin downloading data while fending off Shadow Company forces to gain in-match bonuses.
