Wellspring: A Vibrant Town in the Wasteland
Wellspring is a bustling town located in the desolate Wasteland, known for its notable landmarks such as the Wellspring Speedway, Second Chance Bar, and Outfitters shop. This town, alongside Subway town, serves as one of the two major town areas in the game Rage.
Tears of the Kingdom: Journey to Wellspring Island
In the quest "Tears of the Kingdom," the protagonist, Link, embarks on a journey to Wellspring Island. To reach the island, Link utilizes the Zora Armor, allowing him to swim up a waterfall from the East Reservoir Lake. However, before reaching the island, Link must venture down to the Ancient Zora Waterworks, which is a crucial part of the Sidon of the Zora quest.
Gravity and Unique Terrain Challenges
Once on Wellspring Island, Link will discover that gravity behaves in an unconventional manner. When Link jumps into the air, he will experience heightened altitude and descend slowly. Upon arriving at Wellspring Island, follow this detailed walkthrough to navigate through the various areas and complete the necessary tasks. This guide will provide step-by-step instructions accompanied by corresponding images.
Meeting Sidon
Once you reach Wellspring Island, proceed straight ahead and locate Sidon at the designated location shown in the picture below. Engage in a conversation with Sidon to gather information and receive any quests or instructions.
Crossing the Water Orb Path
After talking to Sidon, turn left and you will come across a dispenser that releases water orbs. Ride one of the water orbs to traverse to the other side, as illustrated in the picture below.
Using Water Orbs to Cross
Upon reaching the other side, you will encounter four water orbs ahead of you. Utilize these orbs to progress further, following the path shown in the picture below. Jump from orb to orb until you reach the opposite side.
Clearing the Sludge
Continue moving forward until you come across a water hydrant, as depicted in the picture below. Pick up the water hydrant and use it to clear the sludge obstructing your path. Proceed to the left while clearing the sludge until you reach a dead end.
Clearing the Floating Pillar
At the dead end, focus on clearing the sludge off the floating pillar, as shown in the second picture below. Once you have successfully cleared the sludge, a waterfall will start emanating from the floating pillar.
Utilizing the Waterfall
After the waterfall starts flowing from the floating pillar, use it as a means to ascend. Jump up and then glide towards the waterfall positioned directly behind it, as depicted in the second picture below.
Progressing Through Waterfalls
Glide towards the waterfall marked '3' and subsequently to the one marked '4', following the sequence shown in the pictures below. This series of glides will lead you to Igoshon Shrine, as displayed in the second and third pictures below.
Climbing the Stairs
Ascend the stairs located adjacent to the shrine. Employ the Ultrahand ability to pick up a flying device and position it on the slope, as illustrated in the picture below. Step onto the device and activate the switch, launching yourself across the gap to the area ahead.
Using Waterfalls for Vertical Movement
Advance forward and employ the waterfall to gain elevation, as indicated in the picture below. Glide towards the waterfall marked '2' as shown in the second picture below.
Continuing Through Waterfalls
Proceed to glide towards the waterfall marked '3' and subsequently to the one marked '4', following the instructions depicted in the provided images. This progression will lead you to a platform with a few constructs. Defeat them and open the chest to obtain the Soldier III Blade.
Ascending the Wall and Rewinding the Water Orb
After obtaining the Soldier III Blade, climb up the wall on the right side. Move to the platform situated on the south side. Utilize the rewind ability on the water orb present there, as shown in the picture below. Step into the water orb, and it will transport you to the platform on the opposite side.
Creating a Ramp with a Slab

Attaching Fans to the Flying Device
Upon reaching the surface, attach three fans to the flying device. Place the device on the ramp, as shown in the picture below. Stand on the flying device and activate the fans. Climbing the Big Waterfall
After conversing with Sidon, climb up the large waterfall present in the vicinity to reach the Water Temple.
