Just like VoIP platforms like Skype, Discord uses various icons to show your activity status on the platform. The status icons let other users know whether you’re online or offline, but there is another type of status you can use on Discord called “Idle”. So, what does idle mean on Discord? In this article, we have explained what it means and also we have told you how exactly you can set the idle status on Discord, so get into it.
What Does Idle Mean On Discord?
On Discord, the term “idle” is usually used to describe a user’s idle status. When someone is idle on Discord, it means they haven’t used Discord for a certain amount of time (usually around 5 minutes). If someone is idle, their status will be shown to other people in their friends list or on the servers.
The idle status lets others know that the user might not be actively using Discord at that time. It is distinct from "offline," which is when the user manually sets the status to "offline" or when the user has been offline for an extended period of time.
If someone’s status is idle, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not on their computer or device. They may still be able to reply to messages or join in conversations, but it means they haven’t used Discord in a while.
