When fans saw Dusty's scars on his leg while watching Swamp People, they were concerned about his health. Dusty went through the unthinkable, but an accident caused him to believe he would die. Dusty nearly lost his right leg in a car accident on a Florida highway after his truck flipped three times on the road, according to TMZ. Dusty explained that the accident occurred when a tire blew on the trailer in which he was riding a shotgun, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to fishtail.
The Swamp People star also revealed that as the truck flipped, the window broke, causing his leg to fall out. He eventually managed to pull his leg back into the vehicle. Dusty said he used his shirt to stop the bleeding and keep himself awake while waiting for the paramedics. Fortunately, Dusty was able to escape the accident unscathed. Dusty's injuries, however, were severe, and he was airlifted to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, according to a GoFundMe page.
