Qavi Khan, who belongs to the Yousefzai Pashtun tribe, began his acting career as a child actor at Radio Pakistan in Peshawar. Later, his family moved to Lahore, where he worked for Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) in 1965, becoming one of its first actors. He also made his debut in films the same year and appeared in PTV's Black and White drama Lakhon Mian Teen in 1966. Khan gained fame with his police drama serial Andhera Ujala, which also starred Irfan Khoosat and Jamil Fakhri. In 1965, he got married, and his achievements were celebrated at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts auditorium in Islamabad in March 2011.
Throughout his career, Khan acted in several TV dramas, including Saheliyan (2016), Farz (2017), Khaani (2017), and Meri Shehzadi (2022–2023). Unfortunately, Khan passed away from cancer at the age of 81 on 5 March 2023.
