Pokemon Scarlet and Violet maintain the familiar gameplay structure of previous titles, focusing on players capturing and trading Pokemon to explore the world and engage in battles with other trainers. A notable addition is the option to battle trainers on paths. The games feature open worlds, seamlessly blending urban areas with open wilderness, a departure from earlier Pokemon games.
Players have the freedom to choose from three routes, and objectives within these routes can be completed in any order. Introducing 112 new Pokemon, including starter Pokemon Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, as well as legendary Pokemon Koraidon and Miraidon, the games offer a diverse lineup. Two new regional forms, Paradox Pokemon, and "convergent evolution" Pokemon, like Wiglett resembling Diglett, add excitement.
The "Let's Go" mechanic allows Pokemon to roam the overworld and automatically engage in wild Pokemon battles. Co-op play with up to three players is also included.
