When Beata informed the doctors about Maya's CRPS diagnosis and the need for high doses of ketamine, hospital staff grew suspicious. They contacted child protective services, who subsequently accused Beata of Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSP). This mental health condition involves a caretaker or parent fabricating or inducing symptoms in a child, making it appear as if the child is unwell.
