The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch console. In this installment, players assume the role of the heroic protagonist, Link, as he embarks on a perilous quest to aid Princess Zelda in her mission to prevent the malevolent Ganondorf from bringing ruin upon the kingdom of Hyrule. The game combines elements of action, puzzle-solving, and exploration, offering players a rich and captivating gameplay experience.

The development of Tears of the Kingdom stemmed from the realization that the ideas for downloadable content (DLC) for Breath of the Wild had grown beyond the scope of mere additional content. Nintendo's Entertainment Planning & Development (EPD) division took charge of the game's development, with Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the director of Breath of the Wild, and Eiji Aonuma, the producer, reprising their roles for this sequel. A teaser for the game was first showcased at E3 2019, generating significant anticipation among fans, and a full reveal followed at E3 2021.

Initially slated for a 2022 release, the game's launch was later postponed to May 2023 to ensure the developers could deliver the best possible experience to players. Tears of the Kingdom has been met with widespread acclaim, lauded for its enhancements over its predecessor, including an expanded open world, new gameplay mechanics, and features that encourage exploration and experimentation. The game enjoyed immense success commercially as well, with sales exceeding 10 million copies within its first three days of release.

Overall, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offers players an engrossing adventure set in the beloved world of Hyrule, featuring captivating gameplay, a compelling narrative, and a meticulously crafted open world to discover and conquer.

Where to Find The Cap of Time in Tears of The Kingdom?

  1. Prepare for the journey by equipping the Flamebreaker armor set to protect yourself from the intense heat. If you don't have the armor set, make sure to bring elixirs that provide strong Heat Resistance.
  2. Enter the Depths using one of the chasms available in the overworld. If you've explored the Depths before, you should be familiar with the northwest portion.
  3. Locate the Nupisoyuat Lightroot in the northwest part of the Depths. This Lightroot corresponds to the Tauyosipun Shrine in the overworld. The nearest chasm to this location is the Hyrule Ridge Chasm, located north of the Tabantha Bridge Stable.
  4. If you haven't activated the Nupisoyuat Lightroot yet, enter the Depths through the Hyrule Ridge Chasm and make your way northwest to the Lightroot. If you have already activated it, you can fast travel to that location.
  5. From the Nupisoyuat Lightroot, head southeast. You'll come across a conspicuous Blue-White Frox. Go left past the Frox and climb the hill to reach the lowest point of a massive root.
  6. Ascend to the highest point of the massive root, which will lead you to the Sturnida Lavafalls area.
  7. From the overlook point, you'll see two Poes. Stand where they are located, and you'll notice a chest on the higher of the two rock ledges near the lava falls.
  8. Paraglide over to the ledge and open the chest to obtain the Cap of Time.

Cap of Time Location Totk

The Cap of Time in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be found in the Sturnida Lavafalls area, which is located directly beneath the Sturnida Basin in the Hebra region of the map. To reach this area, you will need to navigate through the chasms.

The closest chasm to Sturnida Lavafalls is the Hyrule Ridge Chasm. However, please note that it is quite a distance away from the area. To make your journey easier, it is recommended to have the Flamebreaker set equipped, as the area is known for its intense heat.

Once you have reached the Sturnida Lavafalls area, search for a rock formation near a tree root. The Cap of Time can be found in a chest located on this rock formation. Open the chest to obtain the Time Cap.

Remember that acquiring the Flamebreaker set is essential to venture into the area safely and retrieve the Cap of Time. Good luck on your quest!

Tears of The Kingdom Gameplay

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom continues the open-world action-adventure gameplay introduced in its predecessor, Breath of the Wild (2017). As players once again assume the role of Link, they embark on a journey across the vast and diverse lands of Hyrule, including two new areas called the Sky Islands and the Depths. The main objectives revolve around discovering weapons, gathering resources, and completing various quests scattered throughout the world.

In Tears of the Kingdom, Link's mobility options have been expanded, providing players with multiple ways to traverse the expansive environments. Whether by foot, climbing, horse riding, or utilizing paragliders, players have the freedom to explore the world in their own preferred manner.

A notable addition to Tears of the Kingdom is the introduction of Zonai devices, which serve various purposes and can be used in combat, exploration, and propulsion. These devices replace the runes from the previous game and introduce five new powers: Ultrahand, Fuse, Ascend, Recall, and Autobuild.

The Ultrahand power grants Link the ability to manipulate and move objects, as well as combine different objects together. This feature can be combined with the Zonai devices to construct vehicles or other structures. Fuse allows Link to combine materials, equipment, or specific objects found in the world, enhancing the attributes and durability of shields and weapons. For example, fusing an explosive object with an arrow will cause the arrow to explode upon impact. Autobuild instantly recreates a device crafted with Ultrahand, at the cost of zonaite. Ascend enables Link to move vertically through solid surfaces, opening up new paths for exploration. Recall allows for the rewinding of an object's movement.

Shrines and Korok Seeds, beloved elements from Breath of the Wild, make a return in Tears of the Kingdom. Clearing shrines rewards players with a Light of Blessing. After obtaining four of these lights, Link can choose to increase his maximum hearts by one or expand the size of his stamina wheel. Korok Seeds can be used to expand Link's inventory capacity, allowing him to carry more melee weapons, shields, or bows.

The Depths, accessed through chasms found on the surface, introduce a new challenge in the form of Gloom, a viscous substance. When Link comes into contact with enemies covered in Gloom or is attacked by them, his maximum heart capacity temporarily decreases by one. The affliction can only be removed by returning to the Surface or visiting Lightroots, which are large light-emitting plants found within the Depths. Lightroots restore Link's maximum health.

With its expanded world, enhanced mobility options, new powers, and familiar gameplay elements, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offers players an engaging and immersive adventure within the beloved realm of Hyrule.
