Where to Find The Colander in Starfield?
The Colander is an old, abandoned spaceship. If you plan to get on board, make sure to bring things that help you survive a tough battle. You can locate the Colander in the Schrodinger system, which is not too far from Cheyenne and Kryx.
To get to the Schrodinger system, first, travel from Sol to Narion. From Narion, go to Lunara, then Nikola, then Leviathan, and finally, you'll reach Schrodinger. You can visit these places fairly early in the game if you have a decent spaceship. If you're lucky, you might already have the option to travel directly to Schrodinger.
How to Explore The Colander in Starfield?
Docking with The Colander:
To start your exploration, carefully dock with The Colander and board the vessel. Make sure your ship is securely connected.
Checking the Medical Bay:
Head to the Medical Bay. Look for a computer there. Check it for logs that can provide you with information about the history of the ill-fated crew. You'll also find a nearby bed where you can rest with your companion if needed.
Finding the Dining Area:
When you're ready to move on, locate the dining area on The Colander. Along one edge of this area, there's a hatch on the floor that leads to the lower cargo bay.
Unlocking the Laboratory:
If your Security skill is at the Master level, you can pick the lock of the Laboratory to access it directly. However, if your skill isn't sufficient, don't worry; there's another way in.
Alternative Route to the Laboratory:
Instead, follow a hallway to the left of the locked Laboratory door. You'll reach another hatch that leads to a lower area. Here, you'll find a Mainframe computer. Use it to open the doors. Head through the newly opened door and backtrack to the locked Laboratory door.
Confronting the XL-069 Interloper:
Proceed to the dining area once again. Now, there's an opening along its far side that you can use. Descend through a new corridor until you face off against the XL-069 Interloper.
Battling the Interloper:
Use items like Heart+ to improve your damage resistance. Keep healing items like Med Packs and Trauma Packs ready. The Interloper is fast, so don't let it corner you. Stay near the center of the room and move in circles while using your most powerful projectile weapons. Having a companion with you can be helpful. I defeated it easily with the Demoralizing Refined Equinox, a laser rifle.
After the Battle:
After defeating the Interloper, check the area it was guarding. You'll find a container that holds the legendary Sensor-Chipped Advanced Navigator Space Helmet, along with some less important resources and ammo. Once you've collected these items, you're good to leave.
