He made his debut for the club in the Copa Libertadores on March 8, 2017, in a 1-0 defeat to Colo-Colo. He scored his first goal for the club on April 12, 2017, in a 1-1 draw with Alianza Lima.
In 2019, Olivares went on loan to FBC Melgar. He made his debut for the club in the Torneo Apertura on February 17, 2019, in a 1-0 victory over UTC. He scored his first goal for the club on March 2, 2019, in a 2-1 victory over Sporting Cristal. Olivares returned to Sporting Cristal in 2020.
