What Happened to Emily Bills?

Emily Bills' husband, Kelly Bills, reported that she passed away on September 27, 2022. Recently, the esteemed college coach made an appearance on The Jimmy Rex Show.

During the show, Kelly Bills spoke for the first time about his wife's passing in 2022. According to him, Emily died while they were visiting her childhood home with family.

Kelly shared that he had fallen asleep with Emily the night she passed away and was awoken by her alarm at 7:30 AM the next morning. He found her unresponsive and knew immediately that she had passed away.

Despite performing CPR until paramedics arrived, Kelly reported that all attempts to revive her were unsuccessful. Discovering her unresponsiveness was a jolting experience for him.

During the show, Kelly was asked about the cause of Emily's death. He revealed that medical doctors had discovered numerous genetic mutations in her DNA that her family was previously unaware of, about three weeks after her death.

At the time of her passing, Emily was only 33 years old, and she and Kelly had three young children together. They had many exciting prospects ahead of them, as Kelly Bills was steadily gaining recognition in college coaching circles and attracting attention from higher-level teams.

Emily was also doing an outstanding job of supporting her family and being a vital source of encouragement for her young, talented husband.

Emily Bills was a devoted mother and wife, and her sudden passing left behind many loved ones who are mourning her loss. She is survived by her husband Kelly and their children: Brooks (9), Cooper (6), and Jace (3).

Additionally, Emily is survived by her parents Jeff and Karen Smith, her grandmother Marjorie Cutchen Bone Crowley, and her siblings: Kara (Taylor) West, Erin (Jon) Fife, Jeffrey (Melinda Free) Smith, John F. (Lindsey Layton) Smith, and Rebecca (Devon) McBee.

Also mourning her loss are Randy and Robin Bills, as well as their children KC (Stacy Johnson) Bills, Kevan (Stephanie Jensen) Bills, Craig (Rachel Nixon) Bills, and Kimberlee (Riley) Corbin. Emily also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
